I downvoted your OP because everyone else did.
Forgive me?
Those Supras from back in the day were awesome.

Show me where those weight/horsepower estimates make sense for a 3.6s 0-60. Will be more like 4.6s

The cayman quoted does 0-60 in 3.9.
So if the car comes in 2900 and ~ 350 hp it can definitely at least do 3.9.
There’s also supposedly three to four different trim levels.
Why are folks on here super upset about the Supra? Did Toyota do something to y’all? Lol

The OT is pretty car-retarded. There are a few that know a few things, but for the most part, it's a bunch of clueless baws.

It wont.
It'll be around 350 hp and torque which is great. Same engine as in my wife's vehicle and it does 4.6s with the help of AWD and 365 hp. It's a great engine.
That car is one of the ugliest things I've seen in my life. If it's anywhere near that they should all be fired.

Oh so you know someone from Toyota that specifically knows the real weight of this car?
Or are you just hating on this thing to hate on it and be edgy?

Toyota won't eat into the RC-F or LC-500
Overweight and dog-slow.
It lacks a dedicated launch program (which ordinarily enhances the transmission’s torque converter effectiveness, but here triggers a limp mode), so the 0-60 mph arrives in a stomp-and-go 4.8 seconds in the LC 500

They are both considered GT’s and not pure sports coupes.
I am generally going to assume that since both are 2+2’s and the MKV is not, the MKV will be a sports coupe.

Fair point, but at the price premium that car commands, I would expect better numbers.
2+2 guys still want to go fast.

Just familiar with weights of cars and have no faith that this one can come in that light. That's as light as their miniature car(the GT86) that has a tiny engine/tires/brakes etc to keep it that light.

I can understand the sentiment there, but with Lexus comfort and luxury comes before elite performance and while I’m particularly okay with having luxury interior, supreme reliability, and 500 hp, I totally understand why someone with 100k would spend the extra 15-20 to get into an M6 or AMG.

This car will potentially rival the Porsche Cayman and has a 3.6-second 0-60 time.

Thats actually pretty bad. The flagship Toyota sports car will rival Porsche's econo car. The Supra will have to come in under $100k to be a real winner and compete with GTR. Look at the NSX and terrible selling numbers due to price.
I'm no expert but I learned from owning and driving hi-performance or super cars that the numbers are virtually meaningless for several reasons. First, this is probably going to be a great car. The only gripe I have is the design remains very Toyota and still a little dated and a bit generic to my eye. I'm not surprised BMW is involved somewhere. There is a class action suit against Chevrolet by a large group of new Corvette owners who are claiming the cars will not produce advertised times and if they do, they come off the track ready to grill steaks. The one thing about Porsche that no one can achieve is a car you can drive like a supercar, every day...and when you pull in the garage it acts like it just went down to the corner grocery...no steam or smoke...no popping or crackling sounds from expanding and contracting overheated parts, no funny smells, etc. I haven't driven the Hellcat but it's a mind blowing concept...but I respect the opinion of fellow I know who has driven one...and he said he's never feared for his life going in a straight line... the car just does not have the engineering to be stable with that much power. I'll bet the Toyota will be much better at being a supercar than most but it will be a long better anyone develops engineering that will rival Porsche. Regardless of times and numbers they do everything the others are trying to do in a way that feels like they are relaxed in their natural habitat instead of pushing the limits of its build like just about every other car does. If you love great cars just go test drive them for yourself.

Curb weight of the GT86 is 2668 to 2756lbs with demensions of 167 x 70 x 51 inches
Estimates are showing these cars are not that far off in size. The inline 6 will add weight.

Upvote and I can only hope that this car feels like Porsche lol.

I would be okay with the Supra looking exactly the same as it did. Just modernized the tail lights and headlights a little.

Bump for new leaked pictures.
Looks like the camo is finally coming off.
