Also from the Supra MKV forums:

This car will potentially rival the Porsche Cayman and has a 3.6-second 0-60 time.

If all true, this is my new ride.

I’ll stick to my 2004 Civic with a Borla exhaust and 178,000 miles.

Actually no. There is someone on MKV with inside information that's been leaving breadcrumbs since the beginning of the year.

It's actually part BMW

quote:

Cayman 718:
Wheelbase 97.4 in
Length 172.4 in
Width 70.9 in
Height 51 in
Curb weight 2,988lb Manual 3,054lbs PDK
Engine:350 hp / 309 lb-ft
Transmission: 7 speed auto / 6 speed manual
Tires: 235/40/19 front, 265/40/19 rear

Supra:
Wheelbase 2,470 mm (97.2 in)
Length 4380 mm (172.4 in)
Width 1855 mm (73 in)
Height 1,290 mm (50.8 in)
Curb weight 1,496 kg (3,284 lb)
Engine: 3.0L turbo inline-six with 335 hp and 332 lb-ft, plus 37 lb-ft overboot.
Transmission: 8 speed auto transmission.
Tires: 225/50/17 front, 255/45/17 rear

Assuming the supra 18inch wheels will come in at 235/40/18 F 265/40/18 R, which has been confirmed via spy shots/videos. Couple that with the fact that Toyota marketing is trolling us with weight. Which is confirmed to be lighter then posted here. Comparing the suggested dimensions, they're almost identical, we got ourselves a 45-55k Cayman..connecting the dots!

Thats actually pretty bad. The flagship Toyota sports car will rival Porsche's econo car.

The Supra will have to come in under $100k to be a real winner and compete with GTR. Look at the NSX and terrible selling numbers due to price.

I am ALL for the Supra making a comeback but if thats what it will look like, then it leads me to believe they hired the same person who designed the Mazda RX-8, as they look very much alike.

Is it really only 335 hp? I realize that if it’s anything like the old Supras that you can make serious power improvements with minimal mods, but most non-turbo 6 cylinder engines make that kinda power now days.

People are using that number as well as the torque number because it shares the same engine with the M240i and new Z4.

The Tesla P100D laughs at your puny 3+ second 0-60.

Looks almost exactly like the Toyota FT-1 concept.

The Supra laughs at the P100D's $160k price tag.

Yeah, I hear you. But I don't believe any Supra worth having is coming in at under $50k, either.

EDIT: And make that $134.5k.

This alone has given me a little more faith in Toyota.

Quoting for future ridicule. There's no way this thing does that.
