So you are one that sides with Dick the Butcher. Nothing like being all in for murder and mayhem.

It is exceedingly rare to hear that quoted by anyone that knows what it means in the context of Henry VI.

EPA has already concluded that glyophosate does not cause cancer.

Good for them, but it's definitely an estrogen mimicker.

Also, I'm not sure the EPA has really wrapped it's collective little head around how much people use glyphosate. Some assclown was on here a few weeks ago saying he lays down a 150' line of it to keep his fence pretty.

Never saw Smilin' Bob do that in their advertising.

Is he standing over it 8" away inhaling the fumes?

I read a book called Whitewash (or Whitewashed) by an "Environmental Journalist". Her words, not mine. It felt like to a large degree only one side of the story was presented, but Monsanto undoubtedly did some shady shite to protect their business interests.

One of the author's main points is that when making Roundup, glyphosate is mixed with other chemicals. I believe they are surficants, but may be mistaken. She says the studies tested glyphosate alone, not as mixed in the formula for Roundup. Her contention is that the toxicity to humans of the end product (Roundup) is much worse than glyphosate alone.

Surfactants. They are used to reduce surface tension. In the case of a weed killer, it ensures the product spreads out an sticks to the foliage instead of beading up and running off.

Newer commercials are including the generic glyphosate, now.

Next up, for the TV advertisers, is the Boy Scouts of America for sexual abuse.

Roundup is simply glyphosate. Surfactants can be added but it’s a totally separate deal

I am 99% sure that is incorrect. Roundup also has surfactants like POEA. Without the surfactants, it isn't "Roundup" and the efficacy would be significantly lowered.

There are different Roundup formulations with Diquat, peralrginic acid and triclopyr along with glyphosate depending on what it is designed to do and the speed it shows results. All that I am aware of have surfactants in the formulation.

I've got a gallon of ready to use Roundup. The label reads as follows:

Glyphosate, isopropylamine salt - 2.0%
Pelargonic acid and related fatty acids - 2.0%
Other ingredients - 96%
(Contains 0.1 lbs glyphosate acid equivalent per US gallon)

The label on the liter of concentrate plus reads:
Glyphosate, isopropylamine salt - 18.00%
Diquat dibromide - 0.73%
Other ingredients - 81.27%
(Contains 1.2 lbs glyphosate acid equivalent per US gallon)

Neither of the listed additional chemicals appear to be surfactants, but Roundup isn't just glyphosate.

From the Monsanto website:

quote:

Roundup brand herbicide is fully loaded with a premium surfactant formulation that allows for increased spreading, retention and absorption of the glyphosate, resulting in fast and complete weed control.

Without surfactants, weedkillers would be far less effective.

Some may say it is because lawyers are looking for deep pockets to justify the millions spent to make sure there is accountability for poisoning people.

Some may say when and industry leader is held accountable, other companies committing the same or similar bad acts correct their conduct.

Others say it is some of both.

Yet, others do not care.

And still a very scant few, will post questions about it on message boards.

So at the end of the day....maybe no one really knows.
