This is a sad day for Baton Rouge.
We'll have to source our milk elsewhere.

It is called an antenna. You can pick up these stations for free without cable TV.
Also, now most stream their news product now on their apps or website.

What corporate out of town ownership has done to that station is absolutely shameful.

While I’m sad that those tits wont be a part of my morning routine any more, I have always found the job of traffic reporter a waste of money. What does it say about the talent required to do the job that when she is out the weather person just fills in and tells us the traffic concerns.

The New Orleans Market will get interesting pretty soon depending on what Nexstar's next move is with purchasing TEGNA and if that gets regulatory approval.
WGNO and WNOL are owned by Nexstar and TEGNA owns WWL and WUPL. I can't see the FCC allowing all four to be owned by the same owner. All four are full power stations, it is not like in some markets where one affiliate is a low power station co owned by a full power station like in Baton Rouge and Lafayette. I could see them dumping WUPL and or WGNO. WNOL is a CW affiliate which is owned by Nexstar. I doubt they would dump an Owned and Operated station. That leaves WGNO and WUPL at the bottom of the totem pole. Would Hearst (WDSU) or Gray (WVUE) be interesed in adding a second station in New Orleans?
Or they could possibly come up with some crazy LMA where one or two of the stations are owned by shell corporation, but managed through a Local Marketing Agreement where Nexstar manages all 4 stations.
That is what happened in Lake Chuck. KPLC is running 3 of the 4 major networks on two full power stations where the Fox and the ABC are owned by a secondary company, but KPLC manages the on air content and fufills the studio requirements.
Actually KVHP's old building is where the low power CBS affiliate has its studios now.
Of course some of this signal swapping could be all for nothing as more stations upgrade to ATSC 3.0 and reducing the need for as many stations. You could have one of them go silent since the programming could be added as a subchannel to another signal. That is what happened in Monroe with the ABC affiliate there several years ago when the ABC affiliation was essentially brought out and folded into KNOE’s signal and an independent/METV affiliate emerged a few years later.
Then you also have the shrinking audience and some networks are toying with the idea of ditching broadcasting all together in favor of distributing first run content on Peacock (NBC), Paramount Plus (CBS), Disney/Hulu/ESPN App (ABC), and Tubi/Fox App (Fox), leaving broadcasters either as strickly independents with more local content or filled with secondary content syndicated from the streaming platforms.

Based on that clip….
1. She was banging a manship or someone high up
2. She was clearly banging the producer she was working out with there
3. Manship saw this segment and came to this very same conclusion
4. She gone
Mystery solved

Um, what makes you think Soros owns it? He owns Audacy, not WWL parent company Tegna.
