It's cool he helped you but Lake Charles is already sick of the imported money chasers. Also, they are taking up living spaces many displaced residents and true essential workers need.

It’s unbelievable the amount of linemen that are around the area.
I drive from Hammond to BR every day for work. Ive been amazed at the amount of utility trucks and other folks with heavy equipment and generators headed west.

Talked to a guy with ABC professional tree service because they were contracted out by PIKE yesterday at my grandma’s house in Carlyss yesterday. He said that they’re staying in BR. Leave here around 6pm each day and leave there in the morning around 5-6am. Roughly averaging 4 hour trip each way he said because of traffic I assume on the basin. He’s not from here so info was spotty.

Doing well at my sister's. Thanks for asking. Managed to climb her steps to her apt. Here's got AC and a TV. Life's better there than here haha.

So this area is coming back quicker than with Rita .. is that mainly due to with Rita, Katrina had happened

Katrina sucked up a lot of resources. I also think they learned quite a bit.

My grocery store is open and fully stocked. 3 places in town with gas. Food places coming online. It's nuts. Still looks like hell in a lot of places.

Word is there is 3 phase power north side of Westlake. Entergy is backfeeding we were told. Line crew told my buddy in another week he'd probably have power where he is at

Are you are a ADMIN? If not, your opinion was not my question. There are people hurting & looking for help, as I was in 2016. My contact lives in Louisiana, insured & licensed.

Verizon got a tower up near me today. I went from 1 bar to 5 instantly.

ETA we also got confirmation that we are approved for an excavator rental. In 2 or 3 days I will be tearing down and moving some shite.

Got a text from Entergy saying they hoped power would be restored here in Iowa by Wednesday.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up.

I heard similar stories. We let a crew also Pike leave their bucket trucks for the night a couple times this week instead of driving them back to the hotel they were happy not to have to haul the bucket trucks back to the hotel and just use pickups. It’s a shame that some crews can’t find places to leave their bucket trucks it would save a lot of time.

It really is. A crew working in front of my house today was from Atlantic City, New Jersey. She said it was a two day drive to get here. Of course, I thanked her for their efforts many times.

These are 2 pictures of my dads camper that we were in during the storm. My dad is elderly and handicapped from a recent stroke. He was stubborn and didn't want to leave so I didn't know what to do. I couldn't leave him, so I stayed with him. We floated for a bit and just flipped. Its facebook pictures and there's also a video on the Facebook page showing the inside. We were trapped for 8 hours. Anyone with experience dealing with insurance adjusters that can give me the advantage and disadvantage of having a 3rd party adjuster handling our claim?

I’m my experience, residential construction world, I have not had may issues. If you have extensive damage, a good adjuster is going to spend a good 2 hours at your property. Remember they can only pay for what they see. If your contractor comes across additional work, they will submit a supplemental claim. Your contractor should review your loss statement and ensure that all is correct. Be patient, This will take time. We are working in the area. You guys took a serious punch. We are praying for you guys.

Did those thunderstorms yesterday evening cause problems for anyone? We lost a few tarps that had to be put back on and got a very close lighting hit. Brght enough to give you that millisecond blindness and the thunder was almost instantaneous. It was so loud you could feel the ground vibrating through the cement slab of my shop.
