Is a texas landfall really off the table? I asked this earlier seemed like the models were pushing the ridges hard enough to where a westward push to texas was realistic if it stayed like that.

After having access to 6/18z Euro runs for the past few months, I will say they can deviate greatly from their 0/12z counterparts. Not sure if that’s just a purely subjective observation, but they appear to lack consistency or continuity.

Yea, it's certainly not as beneficial as people had hoped when it came out in '18. Also, it should take some off the haters off the GFS b/c it shows what happens when you run a model more often... more chances to get it wrong

When is the first press conference where all of the elected officials pat themselves on the back talking about what a great job they have done for the storm preps?

not even that

what the MSU doc did was string together the last like 5 cones that the NHC had put out

it just so happened the most recent (read: current for 45 more minutes) NHC cone had the storm going straight up the mouth of the Mississippi

ETA: the gif included the cones of both TD14 & TS Laura

can't really say much about the intensity forecasts at the moment

let the storm get away from all the islands 1st
