Well a good night’s sleep didn’t improve LC’s situation at all. This sucks.

Any paint and/or bodymen looking for good work for the next six months?

If you live south of I-10 and your vehicle floods, it’s a total. Don’t let insurance companies try to tell you otherwise. I had to argue with many insurance companies over this after Rita and Ike.

I’m sending the family away. I’m staying home with Pop and my two GSD’s. Loading up on gas and ice this AM.

Got one big oak tree about 8’ from the corner of my house. That one has me worried and is why I’m staying at the shop instead of my house.

If you’re leaving today, be patient and remain calm. Tempers were flaring when we evacuated for Rita. It took 11 hours to reach Alexandria from LC.

Good luck all and stay safe.

Not the forecast to wake up to. Praying for everyone in the path. Stay safe out there and God Bless.

It is. Multiple Mets including Levi and Ryan Maue have been hinting at a further west track for 2 days. Bamwx a paid site for Ag weather put out their own track yesterday afternoon and it’s similar to current Euro
If it goes to Houston would be total failure for hurricane center and will cost lives

You should stick to that Houston centric board that’s got you so riled up.

This storm may have a direct hit on Houston, but as I said yesterday, you have to take these Twitter guys with a grain of salt. This is their time to generate follows, and a Houston track is far better for business than a Sabine Pass track.

The real threat to Houston would be a landfall west of Galveston. Everyone points to the ship channel but that puts Houston on the east side of the storm. I agree, the odds of a Surfside/Freeport landfall are extremely remote.

My favorite site to follow regarding hurricanes.

This storm sucks for me either way because all my family is in Lake Charles and I am here in Houston.

Hopefully it doesn't cause too much damage.

I'm in the same boat. Also have family up at Toledo Bend which this western track is extremely problematic for.

Alexandria far enough out in anyone's professional opinion?

You mentioned Lafayette earlier, that is your better option IMo.

Alexandria is way more inland than Lafayette, I'd say the opposite. Lafayette/Opelousas area atm is at a bad spot just bc of track shifting
Lake Charles is in the worst spot

Damn. Sucks.

I live on the west side of The Heights and my neighbors said we survived Ike and Harvey without a hitch (lost power for a day but that is it). Hoping for the best with this one.

It is, but with the speed of Laura, getting further East is more important than getting north if you’re only going to Alexandria.

The last thing I want though is to end up getting trapped in Texas due to flooding around us.

my mom (in San marcos) offered again but there is just no way. a hit to Houston could make getting home super hard plus there is all the houston evac. i'm not trying to scare you but just explaining why "west" was never an option to me

it's north or east, and at this point north means Arkansas likely (due to supply, not danger)

If you survived Harvey, you’ll survive this...
