Uhh, the government did intervene and the results are proven. Do you not remember the smog problem California used to have?

Yes I do, compared to a cigarette it’s much worse, still. They have intervened but still way to much pollution and carcinogens. The only solution is ban them

Right. Because pollutants PPM is exactly the same indoor vs outdoor.

You don’t think vehicle exhaust gets inside people’s houses and businesses?

Not a smoker but I do not like the government telling a private business what to do.
They should just have to post a sign whether smoking is allowed or not. The people will decide if they want to enter or not.

I don't give a shite about health benefits, worker safety, dying from double lung cancer at 45, shooting commercials where you have to brush out the hole in your throat...I just don't like the smell and am glad they are being banned from restaurants and casinos because of my own personal selfishness

I agree and I don’t like the smell of vehicle exhaust. We should work together and get the govt to ban cigarettes and vehicles

Dude, the government regulates every single business regardless of industry. Especially on safety matters. Why should bars be exempt from this?

It’s the governments job to ensure workplace safety. Smoking is a safety issue for those who work at a bar/casino. You can’t go offshore without your FRc’s. No different.

Smokers need to learn that the world doesn't revolve around them and their trashy habit.

This is interesting from a statistical viewpoint. Would be interested to know if other casinos subject to a smoking ban had similar drop offs in revenue. At the very least it says that shitty habits are correlated.

Harrah's was willing to build a separate wing of the their casino with special ventilation systems just to keep smokers in their casino. I'd say the ban hurts them. shite, talk to just about any bar owner, and they'll tell you things were better when smoking was allowed indoors.

Not true. I have talked to several bar owners who have seen an uptick in business since the ban. I myself am more inclined to visit a barroom nowadays.

I only know a couple bar owners but I can assure you this was not the case with them, especially during the winter months
