Who would have ever thunk an outsider, poor, black, female community organizer from Compton would make a honest and respectful mayor?
She’s the poster woman for a convict.

She had plenty of flags but being black or a woman are trashy call outs.
Real talk- she showed up and got a lot of stuff done in the community. She then regularly was engaged and generally cared in her district. But the financial red flags and judgement was erratic and not shocked that with bigger stages the missteps would get worse.
In addition to the previously mentioned joint and Sydney questions, and credit card use and... there was even stuff like Jason’s dads home for the elderly(?) that was in a totally egregious state of disrepair in her district that they blamed on Katrina (in like 2016ish).
Just far too many stories to think that she’d be able to reign in the issues as the temptations grew.

Yea, cause those other races and gender in Nola politics play so closely by the rules. It’s definitely black women that have the issues with pocketing money ::eye roll::

There’s more black women on welfare than white men

I am just shocked that a news organization is doing legitimate journalism.

I wonder if she supports impeachment

In an interview she said, “It’s not about thinking that there is anything improper, there’s nothing improper. I, in term of contributions whether to the PAC or whether to my campaign, are from all sectors.”
What. The. frick.

I know this is a joke. Problem is A LOT of "devils" black or white have stopped asking questions. And now a city that was once bigger and richer and more influential than Houston or Nashville as recently as the 60's is now in the shape it is.
Goddamn shame.

Well. Actually Fox 8 ripped the story off after The Lens published the info yesterday with no acknowledgment. So it’s sort of a half win for decent journalism in an era of really shitty journalism. Glad it’s all coming out regardless.
The Lens has some serious people doing serious stuff with no budget fwiw.

Yes. Some dude on Twitter posted it and tagged the Lens and all the other news stations.
Someone here posted the Tweet
