Cantrell is interested in whether "tiny houses" can work in New Orleans

Wouldn't most original shotgun houses qualify as "tiny" by those standards?

If so, then the "study" is to get one of her supporters on the patronage.

Vertical apartment complexes. This is the most efficient way to make affordable housing. Where ground is limited, build vertical.

Can I get paid now?

You ever watch that show on tv? These stupid assholes have 6 kids and want to move into a 200 sqft tiny house to feel closer to their family.

$28 million to perform a study? I need to get into the study business.

I really don't think that is how much the study will cost. That's what the whole grant was.

$28 million for a study?

The city announced a month ago that it has received $28 million in federal tax credits and grants from the Louisiana Housing Corp., the agency responsible for the development of affordable housing across the state. That money is expected to produce 642 affordable homes, mostly rentals.

About $43k for each house.

I agree if this is another one of her 50 year studies she is conducting. 2070 is going to be off the chain for New Orleans!

I think I remember a major real estate crash that was mostly the result of lots of people being encouraged to buy houses. Even had some nice videos of dem congressmen bitching to the banks about making loans easier to get for low income people.

At current property values your 43k could buy about 100 sq ft.

Hope you like bunkbeds.

There are a few in that area hitting that number.

Most seem to stay 200-350.
