Its official. Belarus has run out of potatoes. Not a joke.

From the Russian news site (excuse the wonky translation) -

quote:

According to the head of the republic, Russia and a number of other countries faced a shortage, and prices for them there were three times more expensive, and Belarusian farmers began to send products there to earn money.
quote:

Vladimir Putin noted that it is possible to run potatoes in Belarus, but it is good to have your own products. Then the deputy head of the presidential administration Maxim Oreshkin said that it was over in this republic.
quote:

[Putin asked] “How did it end? Maxim says that the potatoes in Belarus are over.
[Putin asked] "What is it?” the head of state was surprised.
quote:

[Oreshkin] also assured the head of state that the tasks of growing potatoes and sugar beets will be solved by 2030.

That date of 2030 is not a typo. A bit nonplussed in the old Soviet fashion, but not a typo.

"Fries with that Sergei...?" Oh... wait.

This Ukrainian troll. How's this relevant to the war?
We just went through an egg shortage. shite happens, but this is irrelevant.

[Phone rings. Secure line connects.]

Trump: Vladimir, it’s me, Donald. I just heard about this drone thing. Crazy stuff! You okay? I mean, Ukrainian drones? What’s going on over there?

Putin: [Calm, measured tone] Donald, good to hear from you. Yes, I am fine. The situation was… handled. These are desperate moves from a desperate regime. Kyiv is losing, and they resort to stunts like this.

Trump: I knew it! I said, nobody’s tougher than you, Vlad. Nobody. But drones? That’s low, even for them. I mean, I’ve got the best security, Secret Service, top-notch, but you must’ve been like, “Not today!” Right? What happened?

Putin: [Dry chuckle] Let’s just say our air defenses are not for show. They tried to make a point, but it was a loud noise, nothing more. We intercepted them far from anything important. Their toys don’t scare us.

Trump: Toys! That’s good. I like that. Look, I told everybody, Ukraine’s a mess, total disaster. Billions of dollars, my dollars—well, America’s dollars—going to Zelenskyy, and now they’re pulling this? Drones on you? Bad move. Very bad. I’d never let that happen on my watch. What’s your next step?

Putin: [Cool, deliberate] We respond as always, Donald. With strength. Ukraine will feel the consequences. This changes nothing in our operation. They cannot stop what is inevitable. You understand this, yes?

Trump: Oh, absolutely. Strength, that’s what it’s about. I always said, you’re a strong guy, I’m a strong guy, we get it. Weak leaders, they fold. Not us. Look, I’m getting calls, people saying, “Mr. President, what’s Putin gonna do?” I said, “He’s got it under control.” But the media here, fake news, they’re spinning it like Ukraine’s winning. Can you believe that?

Putin: [Slightly amused] Your media, always the same. They see what they want to see. The reality is on the ground, Donald. Ukraine is crumbling. This drone stunt is their panic showing. Let your media spin their stories. It changes nothing.

Trump: Exactly! They’re panicking. I saw the clips, by the way—those drones? Looked like something out of a bad sci-fi movie. Not even close to Mar-a-Lago security levels, let me tell you. You gonna hit back hard? I mean, you gotta send a message, right?

Putin: [Firmly] Messages are sent in actions, not words. We are handling it. But I appreciate your call, Donald. It is good to know who understands the game.

Trump: Hey, I always understood, Vlad. Always. Look, we’ll talk soon, maybe get together, play some golf, no drones, just us strong leaders. Stay safe, okay? Nobody wants to see anything happen to you. Tremendous respect, really.

Putin: [Polite but reserved] Thank you, Donald. Golf sounds… interesting. We will speak again. Take care.

Trump: You got it! Best to you, Vlad. Tell those Ukrainians they’re in big trouble. Big!

[Call ends.]

The Ukrainian troll continues to out himself and get more unhinged.

You do realize those 40-50k Russians are probably Russian gays and leftists who fled Russia.

This poetic justice. You should join them, Be top or bottom. Be all you can be, frickboi.

A Ronald Reagan anecdote about Russia when he was President:

quote:

Buying a car in Russia is not quite so easy as buying a car in the United States.

There's a terrible automobile shortage so you have to pay the money up front and then wait, sometimes many years, until a car is made available to you.

On one occasion, at the height of the shortage, a man went down to his local dealership to buy a car. After he had accepted the man's money and the paperwork had been signed, the dealer informed the man that his car would be ready in 10 years and that he could come back then and pick it up.

Taking note of the date, the man turned to leave but paused on his way out the door and asked, "morning or afternoon?"

"It's 10 years from now, what difference does it make?" replied the dealer.

"The plumber's coming in the morning to fix my sink," replied the man.

955 missiles fired and only 14 people killed* (which we don't know if they were military/security or were killed by returning AA).

That sounds like they're targeting infrastructure and not people. Israel kills more palestinians in 1 strike on your low day.

It's so jover.

"Chosen Company" refers to a multinational volunteer unit serving under the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was originally formed in 2022 as the 312th Swedish volunteer company but was later renamed and expanded to include veterans from various nationalities. The unit is now part of the 49th Special Purpose Detachment of the Security Service of Ukraine.

You literally cheer when Iranian drones slam into apartment buildings and wipe out innocent civilians.

So I would say you're way below that.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy /
@ZelenskyyUa
On Memorial Day, Ukraine expresses its special gratitude to the United States and its people. We honor all generations of brave American men and women in uniform who defended liberty at home, in Europe, and all over the world.

When we think about the price that previous generations paid for our right to liberty today, we can only feel eternal gratitude and respect.

As a nation that understands the pain of loss, we know the true value of liberty won in defense of one's own homeland. America's heroes who responded to the call of duty demonstrated to the world what it means to stand up for what is right.

Throughout history and today, true commitment to peace, life, and liberty must always triumph over aggression and destruction. As we remember all generations' sacrifices, we renew our commitment to defending the same cause of good today.

And we thank all Americans who have supported us all along in our struggle for our cause. We will always remember their support and we will always be grateful.

I had high hopes that POTUS Trump would do to Putin what Reagan did to Gorbachev.

It hasn't worked out that way so far..
