That’s not quite correct Ukraine had two major counterattacks that worked. One that pushed the Russians out of Kherson City and the other out of Kharkiv. Then the Ukes had a successful run in Kursk that took advantage of a poor fixed Russian defense.
But in conclusion, the war has not gone as planned for Russia and most people that study these things expected the war to be over long ago.

Interesting. Lukashenko originally said it in an Feb 6th interview (I was incorrect earlier) but it seems that Milley may have said it at the same time or just a few days earlier.

Where did I say that? I've focused on the degree of Russian incompetence with some posts about European rearmament programs and military reorganization. If you look at my posts from last November, I talked about issues with German rearmament but stated that they planned to have a brigade sized element deployed to Lithuania (which happened today), which is a very good indication of their rearmament progress, especially given how scathing that March 2024 report on the rearmament progress was.
Again, because you can't see the forest for the trees, this is a larger conflict and one that Russia is almost certainly going to lose in the long-term. You don't have the ability to talk about why though.
