I think what many here can’t, or won’t, accept is that unless the war is brought to an end soon, Russia will conquer Ukraine. It’s not a matter of if. It’s a matter of when. Barring Europe and the US pouring thousands of troops into the war to fight for Ukraine, they will soon reach the point of military collapse and Russia will impose whatever terms it wants. And we all know what that means.
We think alike, but without Russia agreeing to a treaty they war will continue. So ask yourself, if Ukraine was on the verge of collapsing and things were all good in Russia, why would Russia agree to terms?
Believe things aren’t all that rosey. The war is hurting Russia.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry in its official statement effectively withdraws from the peace negotiation track.
The main points of the Ukrainian MFA:
?? Ukraine will never recognize any part of its territory as Russian. Including Crimea.
?? No third country will be able to prohibit Ukraine from joining NATO or the EU.
?? Ukraine will never agree to a reduction in the army, military industry, or limitation of aid from partners.

ISW Update April 25 2025
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian and European representatives reportedly presented the United States with a proposal to end the war in Ukraine during the multilateral talks in London on April 23.
Reuters also published the full text of the seven-point peace proposal that US Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff reportedly presented to Ukrainian and European officials in Paris on April 17, supporting earlier reporting about the US peace proposal.
US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on April 25, reportedly to secure a major Russian concession in a future peace deal.
That the Kremlin is not formally demanding that Ukraine cede most or all of its territory to Russia at this time is not a significant Russian concession, however.
Russian officials continue to intensify narratives used to justify Russia's invasion of Ukraine in order to set conditions to justify future Russian aggression against European states and control European defense policy in the Kremlin's reflexive control campaign.
Unknown actors assassinated the deputy head of the Russian General Staff's Main Operational Directorate, Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalik, in Balashikha, Moscow Oblast, on April 25.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced in western Zaporizhia Oblast. Russian forces recently advanced in Sumy and Kursk oblasts and near Pokrovsk.

Neither of these points are in the US proposal.

Russia was an aggressor in WWII.
Russia conspired with the Nazis to carve up Poland and the Baltic States.
Russian behavior enabled Hitler.

The only thing that will bring Putin's Russia to terms is military defeat.

Car Explosion in Bryansk: Leading Russian Designer of Krasukha Electronic Warfare Systems Killed
In Bryansk, Russia, the car of Russian designer Evgeny Ritikov exploded. Ritikov, a key figure in the development of modern Russian electronic warfare (EW) systems, was the head of the design bureau at the Bryansk Electromechanical Plant.
The plant is renowned for its work on creating EW and electronic reconnaissance systems, including the Krasukha series, used by the Russian army.
The explosion took place during the night of April 17-18. But the results become known only now. Ritikov’s car detonated when he and a colleague entered it. It is believed that the second victim, who also perished in the blast, may have been either the deputy head of the design bureau or Ritikov's assistant.
Ritikov was heavily involved in the development of crucial electronic warfare systems, such as the Krasukha, which is designed to disrupting radars and communication systems.

Vessel Arrested in the Black Sea for Smuggling Ukrainian Grain from Occupied Crimea
A joint operation by Ukraine’s Maritime Border Guard (State Border Guard Service) and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has resulted in the arrest of a vessel in the Black Sea that was illegally transporting Ukrainian grain from Russian-occupied Crimea.
The operation was conducted as part of a broader effort to counter economic crimes committed by the Russian Federation. According to the investigation, in late 2024 the ship delivered approximately 5,000 tons of Ukrainian wheat from the port of Sevastopol. The grain had been seized from the temporarily occupied territories in southern Ukraine. In an attempt to conceal the true origin of the cargo, the vessel was operating under the flag of an Asian country—part of Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet” used to bypass international sanctions and scrutiny.
During a search of the ship, Ukrainian authorities seized navigation equipment, shipping documents, and other materials proving the vessel’s involvement in the illegal transport.
The vessel has been placed under arrest, and its crew has been handed over for legal proceedings. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.

US President Donald Trump has been slammed as 'disrespectful' over the outfit he chose to wear as he arrived to the funeral of Pope Francis in Rome.
Outside of children who don't have a black suit, who wears a royal blue suit and blue tie to a funeral, especially the Pope's funeral? But that's Tariff Felon's style - 'it's all about me'.A pitiful display of disrespect and yet another failure of this administration.

Not much of a ship with only a 5,000 ton capacity. It's about the size of the only Jamaican flagged ship 40 years ago which hauled grain from the US to Jamaica with a Canadian captain, Filipino chief engineer, and Jamaican crew. It once received crates of polo balls for the ship's owner.
Not much larger than the mini ships of the 1970's and 1980's which were real money makers. These were small dry bulk carriers with a crew of 5 twin engine marine gas oil fueled. No need for tugs two holds two hatches and able to sail up rivers. They were classed for sea voyages unlike Russia's river ships converted to sea which broke up in the Kerch Strait awhile back. Ceres Hellenic Shipping owned a few hundred of them. They hauled a lot of grain and other cargo to small Caribbean Islands from the US. Usually, a Greek captain and a Greek engineer, the rest of the crew from shithole countries who were paid maybe $5 a day with a one year contract.

Did you see Zelensky's little outfit? If you're going to critize Trump's suit at the Pope's funeral, it's completely hypocritical to overlook Zelensky wearing black tennis shoes and his fancy black coat. It's not even a fricking suit for crying out loud.
You're so triggered and disingenuous.
