I remember in February of 2022 Putin said he didn’t want war and they were withdrawing troops from the border.
Would that have happened if he had received a guarantee of no NATO for Ukraine at that time? He asked for it and was told no one can tell us who can join Nato. So no one can say for certain what would have happened if he received that guarantee.
Well isn't that what he is going to get now after all of this death and destruction? He will get that and much more. That is certain.

What do we have left to throw at Russia that could change the realities on the ground?
We have thousands of armored vehicles which will never be used unless a major power invades the US just sitting in the desert in CA near the Nevada border. No telling how much we still have stored in Europe which are all replaced models and we are paying storage for them

Do they come equipped with trained soldiers?

Lee B, Couer and others were apprehensive about volunteering for combat, but surely they will volunteer their money and manpower to help rebuild their favorite country.
I asked them the other day if they had started a Gofund Me for Ukraine yet?
They can all migrate to Lithuania and man the trenches there and wait for the Russians to attack.

Biden's sanctions kicked in yesterday...
Press Releases
January 10, 2025
Treasury Intensifies Sanctions Against Russia by Targeting Russia’s Oil Production and Exports
WASHINGTON — Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury took sweeping action to fulfill the G7 commitment to reduce Russian revenues from energy, including blocking two major Russian oil producers. Today’s actions also impose sanctions on an unprecedented number of oil-carrying vessels, many of which are part of the “shadow fleet,” opaque traders of Russian oil, Russia-based oilfield service providers, and Russian energy officials. Today’s actions are underpinned by the issuance of a new determination that authorizes sanctions pursuant to Executive Order (E.O.) 14024 against persons operating or having operated in the energy sector of the Russian Federation economy. These actions substantially increase the sanctions risks associated with the Russian oil trade.
Additionally, Treasury issued amended General License 8L, which authorizes certain wind-down transactions related to energy through 12:01 a.m. eastern daylight time, March 12, 2025. The narrowing authorization for transactions related to Russian energy further reduces Russia’s ability to leverage this sector and fund its war machine.

Glad you enjoy it dipshit. Or should I say one who considers himself well educated and above average intelligence. Your kind and your beliefs/ideology are exactly what gets us into these disasters. I am going to name you Victoria Nuland.

You obviously don't know the history of Russia and Finland... they have always considered it Russian, and its people Russian, and want to reclaim it... invaded it in WWII, which actually went a lot like Ukraine is going now, and they ended up with a chunk of it... mess with it all the time. It just got a much earlier start on establishing itself as a separate entity and defends itself better.
Finland was literally part of Russia for a little over a century until it gained its independence in 1917 as the Russian Empire collapsed. Ironically, it was around this same time Ukraine declared its independence from Russia. But, while Finland was able to sustain its independence, despite Soviet efforts to reclaim it, Ukraine was reconquered by 1922 and would relain under Soviet control for the next 69 years.

You Zelensky bros are going to be crushed when this ends. I wonder if you will accept reality. You haven't accepted any so far. You will whine and cry on here for days about how it us all Trump's fault and then chicken will shut down this safespace.
Nah I’ll still be blaming Putin for invading and destroying a neighboring country.
Ukraine is in a very tight spot. They may be fricked. But agreeing to a domestic army of 85,000 . . . they may as well fight on.
If israel gave up its military for peace with its neighbors there wouldn’t be a Jew alive in Palestine within 5 years.

(And why was Biden allowing this in the first place? Was he the real Putin Puppet??)
The Russian banks and clearing houses were early on exempted from the sanctions but only for the processing of oil and gas payments from European countries. This was required by these Russian customers as during the 2022 - early 2024 period they had no dependable alternatives. (Thanks Angela.) These exemptions were temporary but regularly renewed as their terms expired.
However, as multiple alternate sources became dependable - and in some cases cheaper - the need for these exemptions no longer existed. So on Jan. 10 of this year, the Biden administration issued a Treasury directive that finally ended these extentions, effective March 12.
And the Trump administration took no action to overturn this directive. Therefore, no legal payment of any kind may be made from European energy customers to Russian banks at this time.
As you can see, this is a catastrophic development for Russia, both financially and politically. As discussed earlier, Putin's ceasefire demands are the goals he had that he couldn't achieve through force and is now trying to achieve through negotiation. However, in reality, these demands also exist as leverage to get these sanctions removed or modified. Putin will back off a dozen 'no NATO', 'no Ukrainian weapons', 'no foreign peace keeping troops', 'all of Kherson, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia provinces Russian territory' to get that pipeline of Euro cash running again.
Trump wants this peace deal badly and Putin knows it. But the Americans have all the cards they need. Will they use them or will they allow Putin to take control with his endless shiny hooks, delays and position changes? Yet another reason to keep our eyes on the Trump administration over the next few days.

As if Russia actually had any trained soldiers themselves. The lost most of them in 2022

The last war between Sweden and Russia was over two hundred years ago It was from this war that Sweden lost Finland to Russia.

The Russian army is growing in numbers. Russia can replace their losses. Ukraine is not. Putin hasn't even conducted but one mobilization of 300,000 troops.
If Russia has no trained troops why hasn't Ukraine been able to stop them? The estimates are 700,000 Russians in Ukraine and Ukraine claims 700-800,00 troops.
If what you say is true who has been driving Ukraine backwards for 24+ months?
It's not North Koreans.

The problem though is if Ukraine rejects a peace deal and keeps fighting, Putin knows all he has to do to win is to keep attritting the Ukrainian army and within a short time, probably a year or less, Ukraine will reach a point its army can no longer hold a front and will collapse. Then there will be no Ukraine, at least an independent one. Instead Ukraine will revert back to the state it existed in for roughly 220 of the past 250 years, namely as part of Russia.
ETA: and no amount of aid, be it money, ammo, tanks, planes, missiles, etc from the West, can change the mathematics of the manpower issue Ukraine faces. In fact all Putin has to do is take a realistic look at the number of troops Ukraine loses monthly, factor in the dwindling number of new troops Ukraine can raise, and he can easily figure out how much longer it will be before the collapse of Ukraine will happen.

100% truth. If they choose not to settle now that are signing their death warrant. And if Trump pulls out they will collapse in 6 months or less.
Trump is not going to stay involved with this if Ukraine doesn't come to terms quickly. He doesn't care what the neocons and the Zelensky Bros want.
