'False story' — Denmark denies Russian claims of F-16 instructor killed in Kryvyi Rih strike
by Tim Zadorozhnyy January 20, 2025 8:03 PM
The Danish Defense Ministry on Jan. 19 denied Russian claims of the death of a Danish F-16 instructor in a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, on Jan. 17.
"This is a false story being spread by the Russian media — probably with the aim of discrediting Denmark," Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen said.
The Russian strike killed four people and injured 14 others, with damage reported to high-rise buildings, houses, vehicles, and an educational institution.
Russian state news agency TASS alleged on Jan. 18 that a Danish F-16 instructor was killed during the attack, citing unnamed sources in Russia's security services.
Denmark's Defense Ministry dismissed the report as false, emphasizing that no Danish military personnel have died in Ukraine. Poulsen condemned the disinformation, citing it as part of broader influence campaigns amid a serious security situation.
Denmark, along with the Netherlands, has provided Ukraine with U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets, which have been used in air defense operations to counter Russian missile strikes on cities and infrastructure.

Schlumberger defies U.S. sanctions, keeps its foothold in Russia’s oil sector
January 20, 2025, 06:46 AM
Despite a U.S. ban on oil-related services in Russia under the latest sanctions package, oilfield services giant Schlumberger (SLB) has no immediate plans to exit the country, The Moscow Times reports, citing Financial Times.
SLB’s activities do not violate the sweeping sanctions introduced on Jan. 10, CEO Olivier Le Peuch said during an investor call. He noted that the company voluntarily curtailed its operations in Russia in 2023, halting the supply of products and technology from its facilities worldwide.
“We are reviewing the new sanctions and currently believe our voluntary measures comply with them,” Le Peuch stated.
“Over three years of war, SLB expanded its operations in Russia, benefiting from the departure of key competitors Baker Hughes and Halliburton, which sold their Russian businesses to local managers,” FT reported.
An FT investigation revealed that SLB continues to sign new contracts, hire personnel, and import equipment through non-sanctioning countries.
Unlike its U.S.-based competitors Baker Hughes and Halliburton, which sold their Russian operations to local managers in 2022, SLB remains one of the few Western oil companies still operating in Russia since Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
SLB has previously faced U.S. sanctions. In 2015, the company pleaded guilty to federal charges and paid $232.7 million for facilitating trade with Iran and Sudan.

Instead of that , the following post spells out, in depth, how this is an excellent example of russian disinformation, which you are promoting. In addition to the embed below, I recommend reading the entire thread ThreadReaderApp

If tweet fails to load, click here. Just one more detail. The thread mentions the initial seeding of the disinformation:
"Initial seeding: The story originated from accounts with few followers and was reported by TASS ("
Here is the translation of that initial TASS message:
Danish pilot and F-16 fighter operating instructor Jepp Hansen was killed during a missile attack on the Ukrainian Armed Forces training center in Krivoy Rog. This was reported to TASS by law enforcement agencies.

I am happy that I live rent-free in your head Ivan.
My original post and reversal when it became clear that Russia wasted a missile with inert warheads. You have clinged onto this like its some massive gotcha. GTF over it.

Also notice the time stamps, it took me less than an hour to back off my statement, how many times have you admitted one of your posts was wrong?

Yes, I know. Anyone that starts a thread about another poster like you did and constantly complains like a little bitch like you do is the perfect example of that. Now carry on with your obsession
