Ukraine's Defense Ministry showcases fiber-optic FPV drone technology
02.01.2025 14:07
The Ukrainian Defense Ministry's Main Directorate for Defense Innovations has conducted a demonstration of fiber-optic-controlled FPV drones for senior commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the event was part of ongoing programs aimed at implementing cutting-edge technologies and building the "army of the future."
During the presentation, domestic manufacturers showcased more than ten drone models, some capable of carrying payloads of up to 3 kilograms. These demonstrations were closely observed by experienced UAV operators -- potential end-users of the technology on the battlefield.
"Domestic manufacturers are demonstrating their readiness to rapidly adapt to the evolving challenges of war and implement the latest advancements. Today, we see clear evidence of this in the successful operation of these systems, their effectiveness, and, most importantly, the readiness to scale these technologies quickly to meet the army's requirements," Tkachenko said.

Addressing Russia’s use of fiber-optic drones key challenge – DIU chief
31.12.2024 16:56
The use of fiber-optic FPV drones by Russian forces presents a significant challenge that needs to be addressed in the coming year.
That is according to Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, speaking on national television, Ukrinform reports.
“We are winning the drone war. However, the Russians have widely adopted the use of fiber-optic drones. This is a major problem for us because electronic warfare (EW) systems cannot neutralize them. The use of FPV drones is a novel trend this year, and next year we will work together to find a logical solution to combat the large number of such devices,” Budanov said.

Clearly you are not if Russia has been using them for months before you. Not to mention this future problem.

"This week OSINT analyst Daniele published a detailed report on FPV strikes by both sides up to the end of March."
Is this like the Oryx analyst who was caught double counting Russian Tank losses. "Visibly Confirmed"
If all this data was correct then the Ukraine counter offensive would have worked instead of failed and Russia would not be taking Ukrainian territory for the past year.

Ok. Everything positive for Russia is true. Everything negative for Russia is false.
Teach us more oh learned one. Our eyes are open now.

Incorrect. I just don't believe pro Ukraine OSINT accounts that "Visibly Confirm" and tell me what the numbers are. I also wouldn't believe pro Russian OSINT accounts that do the same thing. Ukraine's counteroffensive failed and Russia has been gaining Ukrainian territory for the past year. Those are the facts we know.

Gazprom is likely attempting to exploit the cessation of gas transits through Ukraine to create an artificial energy crisis to destabilize Moldova.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signaled that Ukraine will increase drone and missile strikes against Russia in 2025 as part of efforts to bring Russia to accept Ukraine's demands for a "just peace" in future negotiations.
Russia intends to issue Russian licenses for the operation of all six of Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant's (ZNPP) reactors by 2028 as part of Moscow's long-term efforts to legitimize its illegal occupation of the plant and exploit Ukraine's energy supplies.
Ukrainian forces conducted a missile strike in Kursk Oblast, reportedly against a Russian military command post.
Ukraine’s Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) specified new details about the December 31 Ukrainian naval drone strike against Russian Mi-8 helicopters in the Black Sea as Ukrainian strikes continue to degrade Russian operations in occupied Crimea.
Russian forces recently advanced near Siversk, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, Kurakhove, and Vuhledar and in western Zaporizhia Oblast.
The Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) continues to inadequately supply Russian military personnel with basic equipment and ammunition, forcing soldiers to provide their own materiel.

The entire video was like watching something out of Hollywood, and it seems like all of this is continuing to happen for just a couple seconds of lead time when it comes to pressing the button that lets the real missiles fly.

The Ukranians had been iterating drone designs more quickly than the Russians, but the Russians were vastly outproducing them.

"He says that Zelensky gave the order to form a new brigade, which cost 900 million euros, and it began to be prepared in France. At the same time, more than 50 soldiers fled right in France.
"This raised questions among the French leadership about the seriousness of the Ukrainians' attitude to the implementation of such an expensive project. Such an approach seriously discredits Zelensky's entire plan, so a scandal began, the topic was raised at Headquarters, and the State Bureau of Investigation opened a criminal case," Butusov writes."
