Aristocratic systems work as long as the elite fight. In these societies, war functions as testing and winnowing system. It exposes the weak and the incompetent, and it hopefully culls them. By the same measure, it shows you who the great men are. The people with the right qualities to lead society.

But legitimacy also rests on the aristocracies willingness to fight, by taking the risks that others won't, you show your right lead

Your English is dogshit. How many of these Russian aristocrats are fighting right now in Ukraine?

No, "Russian" Orthodox Christmas is January 7th, along with some others.

Since 1923, Greek, Romanian, and Bulgarian Orthodox celebrate tomorrow.

In 2022, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine switched to the western calendar and celebrates tomorrow.

ISW Update Dec 24th

quote:

Key Takeaways:

A senior Russian official reiterated Russian President Vladimir Putin's insistence that negotiations with Ukraine must be based on the same uncompromising demands he made before the full-scale invasion and at the moment of Russia's greatest territorial gains, despite the fact that Ukraine has liberated significant amount of territory since then.

The Kremlin's economic limitations will likely hinder its efforts to impose policies combatting long-term demographic decline in Russia.

A Russian cargo ship sank in the Mediterranean Sea on December 23, possibly while traveling from St. Petersburg to Vladivostok via Syria and Libya.

The United States provided Ukraine on December 24 with the first tranche of loans generated solely from profits from frozen Russian assets.

Russian forces recently advanced near Pokrovsk, Toretsk, Vuhledar, Velyka Novosilka, and in Kursk Oblast.

Russian Security Council Deputy Chairperson Dmitry Medvedev claimed on December 24 that 440,000 recruits signed military service contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) in 2024.

Wow you come to this thread loaded with links and valuable information. Posting likes it's your job!

That’d be a hard job. If “it” works just 8-hour days and no weekends, that’s a post every five minutes.

This is either a bot, on the job, or a creepy son of a bitch.

Russians strike Ukraine's largest energy company's thermal power plants: serious equipment damage reported

Alona Mazurenko — Wednesday, 25 December 2024, 08:27

During an attack on 25 January, Russian forces targeted thermal power plants of Ukraine’s largest energy company DTEK, causing severe damage to the power plant equipment.

Source: DTEK

Quote: "Russia carried out another large-scale terrorist attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. DTEK thermal power plants were targeted.

As a result of the large-scale attack, the equipment at the thermal power plants was seriously damaged. After the attack ceased, energy workers promptly began repairs and restoration of the equipment's operation."

Details: DTEK stated that this marks the 13th large-scale attack on Ukraine’s energy sector in 2024 and the 10th on the company's energy facilities.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, DTEK thermal power plants have been attacked over 200 times.

??BREAKING: Footage of the Azerbaijan Airlines crashed plane showing holes in the tail section is circulating on social media

Kremlin media claimed that these holes "resemble those left by shelling or an explosion with shrapnel." However, no evidence has been provided to support this theory.

Meanwhile, some social media users suggest that these holes may have been caused by the aircraft's impact with rocky terrain or by parts of the plane breaking apart. Videos of the crash being shared online show no visible trail of fire or smoke, further contradicting the claims made by Kremlin media.

The official cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and an investigation is ongoing. The Federal Air Transport Agency stated that the plane reportedly collided with birds in the air, prompting the pilot to attempt a landing at an alternate airfield in Aktau.

The Azerbaijani passenger plane that crashed in Kazakhstan was probably shot down by russian air defense.

According to the official version, the plane did not land in Grozny because of fog. However, at that time, "ultra-precise" air defense of the ruscists was operating in the region.

The footage circulated online shows that the fuselage of the aircraft is covered with traces of debris. Similar marks are left by surface-to-air missiles, according to media reports.
