Well, whatever it is. (My ability to compare relative sizes of areas may not be the best.) In any case, it could be an issue for adequately judging the progress of the invasion.

Regarding the nuclear exchange thing..
I live 5 miles west of BAFB.. if I had to bug out I would hit I49 very quickly and head towards logansport...

Form what it looks like to me, they're saying that the Russians only control the immediate areas around their MSR's. It's a weird metric.

I think this illicits a western response, I’m just not sure what. I don’t think we nuke them back.
Big Picture: Unless we faced a mass launch directed at NATO/us I think we would respond with everything but nukes. Anything that would show the world they still can't frick with us but would avoid a nuclear winter. While it's not ideal to reveal those weapons, it's better than the alternative.
