So people were led to support something that we now know was bad via hindsight by an institution that (until recently) people generally trusted and respected? Wow, that is groundbreaking news.
The government officials and media who knew better and knowingly lied are the ones who deserve our scorn, not regular people who are more focused on their families than they are rationally analyzing the possibility that Saddam had WMDs at all, or the fact that even if he did he wouldn't have any that could hit the US.

I wonder if the actual content of your respective posts matters at all in the decision?
Even if he was, he came to the correct conclusion now

Some Syrian Channels are claiming that a Convoy of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) Fighters have managed to break through the Retreating-Lines of Government Forces and enter the City of Al-Rastan, which lies on the South Bank of the Orontes River between Hama and Homs.

It could be over for the Syrians, depends on how much aid Iran can get to them from Iraq, and how quickly.
If that happens, it's end of Christians in Syria. There will another orgy of beheadings, rapes, with destroyed churches and monasteries. People will flee or die.

Why did we have a mass exodus of Christians from Syria to the US over 100 years ago?

Israel is systematically targeting and destroying the states that protect and promote Christian interests in the Middle East.
Christian’s have no worse enemy.

The Putin cuck doesn't know that Christians were persecuted there 100 years ago and mass immigration to the US was the result, some kept their surnames, others Anglicized their names to fit in. Without any Maronite churches over here they became mostly Catholic or Episcopalian though some became GREEK Orthodox. My backyard neighbors were Mahfouz, who were Catholic. A former boss (owner of the company) was a Williams, but his parent Anglicized their name to fit in up in Buffalo, NY.

Our former state AG, Richard Ieyoub, parents came over from Syria. He was a very devout Catholic and lector at Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Lake Charles. his eldest brother was principal at Lake Charles High School, then St, Louis High School. HIs other older brother was a organic chemistry prof at McNeese, blonde hair and blue eyes. The coeds all ooed an awed about his looks.

Scapegoating your problems on a people representing 0.2% of the world’s population is a pastime Christian’s just can’t quite.
As a member of a 6,000 year old tribe let me tell you a secret. It ain’t us. As with all great institutions, Christian’s worst enemy lives within. Cherish your values and don’t infantilize your traditions if you want to see year 3,000. You gave away the birth and resurrection of your savior to department store adverts for Christ’s sake!

Religious freedom for me but not for thee never ends well, Lima. I pray a more tolerant government will arise on the borders of Ukraine and Israel one day.

Says the guy who wants to impose a theocracy and supports Russia as it exterminates evangelical Christianity in the parts of Ukraine it controls.

At this point, Syria is going to be controlled by guys that we don't like. The only question is which ones. I
Assad was always eventually going to fall. That's why McCain was absolutely correct and has been fully vindicated in Syria.
When the rebellion against Assad started, moderate leaders who would have respected Syria's ethnic and religious diversity were at the forefront, because they were able to get popular support in the expectation of getting help from the West.
When that didn't happen, the rebels got support and financing from jihad. They needed money and support from somewhere, and our inaction meant that jihadist ended up leading the movement.
If McCain has been listened to, Assad would have been toppled years ago, and we would have a friendly (or at least neutral) government in Damascus.
Now, though, we'll get a government that we cannot influence at all, and we'll just have to see how hostile it will be.
All that said, this is still a good thing because it's a defeat for Iran and Russia.
EDIT: Oh, and there never would have been an ISIS, and Iranian militias wouldn't control Iraq. And we have the same crazy idiotic inaction that Obama followed back then supported is championed now by people who call themselves "America First," and what they mean by that is that they want our enemies to run the world.
