If this is the case, can the O-T stop mentioning the increase in gun crime? What did people expect if people all own guns?
Because the solution in dealing with bad people with guns is giving good and responsible people guns to defend themselves. This board understands that.

Bro you shoehorn domestic US issues into every russia/ukraine update lol

At the end of the cold war, some of those military think tanks did an analysis of the cold war and the real Russian military capacity and made the determination that we were lied too and we grossly overestimated their capacity and ability, even their nuclear warheads. We are competing against a paper tiger.
We are seeing that right now

As the father of spoiled college age kids, It’s clear the way to stop this war is to deport all the oligarchs kids from our colleges and universities forcing their parents to spend extended time with them.
Funnily enough a new Rasmussen poll came out yesterday, and I don’t think the results will surprise you:
Of course the 200K plus want war with Russia because their kids won’t be fighting in it. Their kids won’t be coming home in caskets to fight in Eastern Europe and the Middle East or blow their own heads off years later from the trauma of warfare.

Enlisting has more to do with culture, than anything else. It’s about where you’re from.

I agree 100%, I think I actually convinced my son to go back to school but explaining the draft system to him and that his mild asthma will not get him out of going to Ukraine to fight etc, and about what happened in vietnam.
I really think we would be much better off if everyone had to spend 2 years in military or in service to country. When doctors and lawyers kids have to die in foreign wars, you will have a lot less wars.
It would be great for 90% of kids I know.

Agreed. I think Israel does it right. Even people like Jon Stewart thinks you should serve your country in some capacity for at least two years.

What are the rabid, Israel-first neocons going to do when the leader of their most favored nation meets with their arch-enemy
I’ll be sure to ask them if I meet any. Meanwhile as someone who is simply pro Ukraine without being a “Israel first neo” con , I’m comfortable with diplomatic overtures if it can defuse things.
Meanwhile, how does a self-described “libertarian” reconcile being pro- authoritarian, pro-war, pro Putin ? Could it be that you’re just an alt right memelord hack ?

Nothing is more libertarian than unilaterally invading a sovereign nation to remove the democratically elected government.

Why? Nobody can invade us? It’s also a waste of population use.

Since it looks like adults are here rn, is there anyone on here that doesn’t believe that Putin is planning to and about to “raze” every city, town, village he can, or in other terms blast them into piles of rubble.
If you don’t think that is happening soon, please explain why?
I can openly say now for my support of this position this is exactly what Nato, US Military, Brits, intelligence agencies etc are all reporting today although it has been obvious this has been coming for days. That’s his nature

I don’t think that was his original plan but the situation is vastly different from what he planned. I think he’s stunned and in a corner

CNN also said Putin plans to use the Death Star this weekend!

@phildstewart
That's pretty rich.

It said Moscow was particularly worried that portable anti-aerial Stinger missiles could end up in the hands of terrorists, posing a threat to airlines.

Sounds like a thinly veiled threat that Russia might shoot down another commercial jet and blame others.

Between this and calling the economic sanctions “akin to acts of war,” sounds like Putin is gearing up for a potential strike against NATO.
Insane? Yes. But he’s probably already proved that.

You are such a disingenuous liar. I'm not pro-Putin, I'm pro staying the hell out of it. But it's hilarious to see the American political class get all up in arms about Ukrainian sovereignty when they are the very people who so willingly violate the sovereignty of other countries when it suits their interests. It's the hypocrisy I can't stand.
And lol if you think I'm pro-authoritarian. If you find yourself in common cause with neoconservatives and the DNC, the chances are you're the authoritarian. And check my post history if you think I'm pro-war. I'm probably the most anti-war poster on this site. The problem with pieces of shite like you is that you're only anti-war when a country like Russia invades another country. You and the rest of the war brigade on this board never seem to get this upset when your own government does or instigates the same damn thing.

You’re just anti American political positions, whatever they happen to be. It has nothing to do with being anti war.
