At the rate these ammo companies have been putting out product over the past couple years, it might take 6 months for them to recieve all 1MM rounds.

Looks like Russian Air Force had a real shite hole of a day.
You know folks talk about implementing a no fly zone. There are so many stinger and other weapons flowing that I bet Ukraine can be way more effective at causing destruction without it

Kinda like that they called the Russian invading army "the horde." That has some unpleasant connotations and callbacks in that area to the Golden Horde, etc.

Video of Russian plane shot down
The thread updates with a pic of the captured pilot (and a video of killed copilot) who had ejected.
The captured pilot is the guy in this picture with Putin, Shoigu, and Assad.

I've always likes the lines of the SU35/su34 as much as any other fighter plane. Not as sexy when seen up close though. That thing looks pretty rough.

Will be invaded. That Belarus president map showed forces moving into transnistria. It also puts the Carpathian Mountains as a natural border.

@KyivIndependent·3h??Civilians' evacuation in Mariupol postponed as Russian forces fail the temporary ceasefire agreement.
Evacuation was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. but Russian forces didn't stop shelling the area.
Authorities were hoping to evacuate up to 200,000 people from the city.

@Reevellp
I just spoke to Petro Andrushenko an advisor to the mayor in Mariupol, the Ukrainian city where Russia said it was opening a humanitarian corridor.
He said they have had to halt the evacuation because Russia shelled the agreed evac point where people were to gather.
quote:
The Russian defense ministry said in a statement that it was declaring a ceasefire and opening "humanitarian corridors" to allow civilians to leave the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha. But Mariupol deputy mayor Serhiy Orlov told the BBC that "the Russians are continuing to bomb us and use artillery" despite the ceasefire. In a message on Telegram, the city council said fighting was also taking place in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the humanitarian corridor ends.

So Putin randomly used a meeting with flight attendants to make a bunch of statements today.
Link to thread with video. Interesting that he's now sitting a lot closer to people; trying to repair his paranoid image? I would love to know what those women were thinking.

quote:You know these flight attendants are just like WTF? lol
Summary of Putin’s statement:
-Russia will consider the decision of any country to introduce a no-fly zone over Ukraine as participation in a military conflict - and it doesn’t matter what organizations they are members. (Continuing)
The consequences will be catastrophic not just for Europe, but for the whole world.
-No military or other special mission is planned
-Neither conscripts nor those who are called up for training will be involved in the operation in Ukraine
-The destruction of all relevant military infrastructure in Ukraine was done as first priority, including aviation, air defences and warehouses. This is almost completed.
-Ukraine is presented with many different options for the demilitarization of Ukraine, they are some on the negotiating table with Kiev, Russia hopes for a positive reaction.
-Today's leadership in Kiev must understand - if they continue in the same spirit, they call into question the future of Ukrainian statehood, and if this happens, it will be entirely on their conscience.
-The way out of the current situation with sanctions may be the maximum economic freedom of business, the government is working on expanding support measures, including lifting restrictions on entrepreneurial activity.
-The Minister of Transport has proposals on how to solve the problem with leasing companies and aircraft equipment, negotiations with companies are already ongoing.
-There’s no doubt the russian military will finish its task. Everything is going according to plan.
-Russia’s key demand is the demilitarization of Ukraine. This was a meeting with female pilots and aviation sector employees.
