They really need a bunch of F16's in the air to counter the big glide bomb delivering aircraft. The glide bombs have much greater impact than human wave assaults.

Why aren’t you out there leading the meat wave charges for your buddy Putin? I’ve served my country for years, what the frick have you done besides root for our enemy? Also just FYI as a pilot I can be recalled to serve again if the military needs it.

And yet some of the Biden boys in this thread defend him continuously. I don't get it. You would think they could figure this bunch out.

Who are you referring to? I think about all the regulars in this thread are conservative Republicans.

GOP_Tiger and FalconsBravesDawgs have both said they are voting for Biden over Trump. What makes it far worse is that Falcons lives in a swing state

GOP ok
I don’t recognize your other example.

GOP is making a big mistake. He needs to vote for the best candidate. It sure can’t be Biden.

Long detailed rundown on artillery production in Russia. Russia heavily depends on artillery while the US depends on air power. Ukraine needs a bunch of F16's.

ssia sucks at combined arms warfare. And it's really starting to show.

Russia has never won a war without winter and just throws bodies at an enemy. So far our 100 billion or so investment has reduced most of russia's pre-war military. Most of those funds go back into our economy into the MIC amd we demonstrate our wares in real combat and rack up the orders. MIC is not dumb...

Because I don't actually give a shite about Russia, we've been over this.

I'm aware, thank you for you service...but you've told me this at least 5x now. Can we get some more info on what you actually did in the military? I know dozens of veterans that actually fought in combat and they don't feel the need to constantly remind people.

Helped fund a proxy war against my will. I've employed over 15 veterans so far in my small utility infrastructure company, hope to add many more in the future.

Biden Administration Announces Historic New Security Assistance Package for Ukraine
April 26, 2024

Unlike Presidential Drawdown Authority, which DoD has continued to leverage to deliver equipment to Ukraine from DoD stocks at a historic pace, including through the $1 billion package announced on April 24, USAI is an authority under which the United States procures capabilities from U.S. industry or partners. This announcement represents the beginning of a contracting process to acquire additional priority capabilities for Ukraine.

The capabilities in this announcement, which totals up to $6 billion, include:

Additional munitions for Patriot air defense systems;
Additional munitions for National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS);
Equipment to integrate Western air defense launchers, missiles, and radars with Ukraine's air defense systems;
Counter-UAS equipment and systems;
Munitions for laser-guided rocket systems;
Multi-mission radars;
Counter-artillery radars;
Additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS);
155mm and 152mm artillery rounds;
Precision aerial munitions;
Switchblade and Puma Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS);
Tactical vehicles to tow weapons and equipment;
Demolition munitions;
Components to support Ukrainian production of UAS and other capabilities;
Small arms and additional small arms ammunition; and
Ancillary items and support for training, maintenance, and sustainment activities.

It's factually true that they feel this way, but they are 100% wrong to feel this way.

Good. More power to them. But on the other hand how often does Macron run his mouth and never back it up with action?

If the US gets into a shooting war with China how many of those European "allies" would be there with us? Maybe Britain?

Damn. That's seriously messed up. For the downvoters, don't dismiss the source. A lot of outlets are reporting the same thing.

If OMB did the same thing he'd be impeached and indicted.

If the Ukrainians believe they are in an existential battle to save their nation, let them attack what they think gives them the best chance to stop Russia.

I think some here would bitch about Zelensky and Ukraine no matter what Ukraine does or does not do...

How many were with us after 9/11?

It's more about holding Europe together as an entity that doesn't revert to pre-WII wars among neighbors that turns into a shitshow and disrupts everything.

And then nuclear proliferation... some of these countries have parliamentary systems that can swing from one extreme to another... with Neo-Nazis and Neo-Communist parties that have bursts of popularity. Do we want one of those parties to come into power and have control of nukes? Without confidence in the US/NATO providing the nuclear umbrella they're going to want their own, and that's not good.

We didn't really learn our lesson from WWI... but we did from WWII, and we put a system in place that gave us the "Long Peace." I know everybody screams about "Globalism," and it is bad when taken to ridiculous extremes (which we've done a lot)... but the concept was that countries did not need to attack and invade other countries for resources, anymore... they could buy them on the open market.

China... doesn't seem to be concerned with projecting military power beyond reclaiming Taiwan (and that's more of a personal obsession of Xi's at this moment... based in fears of people thinking Taiwan has a legitimate claim to power in China) and seems more set on being a major global economic force as a way to accrue power. Something they seem to be agitated with Putin for screwing with...

Russia... this is where people scratch their heads. In that respect, globalism was enriching Russia (or at least Putin and his Oligarchs) and invading other countries like Ukraine makes no real sense...

But "human beings" can be the most valuable resource, and besides Putin's dreams of reclaiming the Russian/Soviet Empire of old and his paranoia about security and having buffer states under his control, Russia's demographic collapse endangers their existence... and Russia does not value the rural Eastern part of its population at all, so sending those men to their deaths is probably something they see as a win, as far as disposing of people they have no work for and who they fear might turn rebellious when the vodka and krokodil run out... absorbing 20 million "European" "Russians" that are generally more educated (supposedly, the Russian education system kind of collapsed in the early 00s) would give them a boost.

And considering the demographic collapse that is probably going to bring down both Russia and China as it stands now... what will a world without the two of them as a force look like?
