The three countries that were going to give Mig-29's for the Ukranian pilots have taken the offer back. One says they don't have any mechanically sound planes, with no parts to fix them, one says they don't have enough planes to patrol their own skies, and the third said they don't want to get nuked.
Classic big talking, followed by an outbreak of a vaginitis pandemic.
You have a link?
If so that’s just as much of a sign of weakness as it was strength when they committed.

Ironic because you've been emotionally excuse making for the incompetent Russian military performance this entire thread.
The only thing incompetent is y’alls reliance off of Twitter feed that’s consistently proved false again and again. Look at battle map and Russia is doing remarkably well.

Yeah, I think a lot of folks have been duped by the propaganda. The Ukrainians are being very valiant and brave but Russia is definitely winning the war, though it's not going seamlessly for them. Now whether or not Russia can hold it long term with the worldwide condemnation is another thing altogether and something I honestly don't know

Yep I posted military facts about Ukraine and they have a decent military plus their generals trained with the Russians. Of course that got down voted because it wasn’t a Twitter video falsely glamorizing an Ukrainian grandma that stole a polish plane and miraculously destroyed the convoy.

Once the fighting dies down and Russia takes over, people will move on to the next crisis.

Russia doesn’t give a shite about the worldwide condemnation. They’re too deep into this to stop now. I predict they keep going until Ukraine is all theirs, they install the puppet government everyone expects them to install, and for all intents and purposes, Ukraine becomes Russia lite. Then Putin pounds his chest and says “see, I fricking told y’all I was gonna do it”. He then lays low for a bit while figuring out how to handle the economy until going for round two somewhere else because he would have gotten away with it in Russia. He’s going to keep going until either dying or being met by NATO forces to stop him. Unfortunately it’s going to take a major show of force by NATO to stop him, whenever he decides to get really brave and attacks a member state.

From the bottom of our hearts, you are, without a doubt, an insufferable prick.

I agree 100%
I will say, the economy thingy is going to linger a bit more than he’s comfortable with.

Alexei Navalny is calling for nationwide protests in opposition to the invasion. A very St. Sebastian esque performance from this guy. Survived poisoning and is now "yelling at Diocletian" from his prison cell
admirable, really

Somewhere around 2,000 Russian dead is what I saw this morning, and that could be on the low end. There's also reports of Belarus hospitals struggling to care for the influx of the injured, and that would likely just be from the Northern fighting. I don't know what an "Executive Summary" is, but that is a very flowery account for Russia. ETA: The 5,000 dead number was put out by the Ukrainians. I don't buy that, either.
Best guess on casualty numbers is to split the difference between the 2 and you’re probably close. Both sides will inflate or deflate the numbers for propaganda

There’s only 2 or 3 countries in the world that can project power past their immediate neighbors.
There’s really one world power that can project power across seas. The U.S.
Russia and China could nuke anyone. But nobody except us has the Navy capability to invade countries and control them across the world that are not connected by land.

armies don’t mean shvt when you don’t have an Air Force against the US.
All the troops, tanks and artillery don’t mean shite without controlling the skies. Also a competent navy to blockade shipping lanes and move equipment/troops.
If you don’t have a quality Air Force and Navy today, you won’t accomplish shite. It’s actually amazing to me how so many nations don’t invest more in those 2 areas especially Navy.

In terms of territory gained, sure, but at what cost.

BTW - Dan Carlin put out a Common Sense Podcast yesterday. I've not had time to listen but it should be interesting.

The fact that Australia is buying something like 10 nuclear powered submarine from the US is a good start.
Australia needs a robust dedicated Marine expeditionary force. From what I can tell, all that have is an Army battalion that specializes in amphibious warfare, but they have a number of island possessions and territories that could easily fall under Chinese control should war ever break out in the Pacific.

Nobody is getting downvoted or called out because they are listing military facts and nobody on here has claimed Ukraine is winning or is gonna win They are being downvoted and called out because of the pro-Russian tone in their post. They are almost excited to talk about how powerful Russia is how Ukraine should just give up. They are rooting for Russia without having the courage to say it (a few have outright said it), it’s sick. Nobody believes the Ukrainian military can win this war but we like to celebrate when the victims of this aggression have some success. Rooting for those being oppressed is human nature.

The Ukraine/Russia conflict is a war between two countries that are a very long distance from us. We have no dog in this fight. Imagine Paul Revere warning George Washington that the Russian's were invading Ukraine.
The propaganda is annoying because for one: most of it is just comically obvious propaganda, and two: its being pimped by US media for US viewers to attempt to pull US viewers into support for military intervention.
