I agree. Do you know how bad Germany would suck without our troops there?

Correct. What makes Russia different is that they have intentionally decided to be a "great power" in opposition to the United States. That's why Russia supports the Norks, the Mullahs, the Cuban Commies, etc.

Because in the 1990s, Russia had a choice: they could become a modern nation in broad agreement with the civilized nations of the world, or they could remain a "great power" in opposition to those nations and in league with the most evil, totalitarian states in the world.

They chose poorly and continue to choose poorly.

We can't be allies because the Russians themselves do not want to be allies.

You kumbuya frickers think peace just happens out of nowhere. Peace is not the default state of human affairs. Conflict and competition is.

Parties have to work towards peace but the last 20 years have proven that the Russians could not stand being a secondary power to the US. That's the truth of the matter. How you feel about individuals of a particular nationality isn't the basis of geopolitics. Any suggestion otherwise is asinine.

Its Marxism that Russia unleashed, they were never communist nor pretended to be.

Our current progressives and most of the left are actually communist if you were to label them correctly.

quote:

The difference between Communism and Marxism are the following: The ultimate goal of Marxism is socialism while the ultimate goal of communism is a classless society. Marxism believes that socialism will come about through revolution while communism believes that it will come about through gradual reform.

So if Mexico ousts their president and we don't like the new guy b/c he's too friendly w/Putin and Xi we are justified in invading and occupying Baja California, Sonora, and Chihuahua?

We never have when they allied with the Soviet Union and nationalized US holdings.

So fake question

I know two Russians in Nola and one in Houston. They live here in the US because they despise the Russian government.

If you go to their social media pages they all support Ukraine.

It’s ok to support resistance against a criminal government.

It was over the second Putin seized control of the country, his one burning desire is to get his old band back together and bring the evil empire back to life, had he never gotten control things could have played out very differently.

The best way out for everyone is for him to head off to his dacha and live out whatever time he has left in solitude.

Russia is targeting Ukrainian troops and vehicles using heavy artillery fire guided by aerial drones and explosive drones directed from the ground by pilots wearing video goggles. In some places, there are so many drones flying that the Ukrainians call the phenomenon “Boryspil,” after the country’s main international airport in Kyiv.

I hope Ukraine has a lot of counter battery fire to take out the heavy artillery. There were reports of complaints from Russian officers due to their shortage of counter battery fire and Ukrainian sources confirming that even their towed guns weren't too worried about it.

I know just 2 Russians, very good people. One I use to date. Both have a distaste for what Russia has done. They're both American citizens now and they both want the US to enter the war. A little too much for my taste.

We do not need to send troops.

Well, thankfully, they've committed their own crimes that can stand on their own.

The economically thriving nations of Europe are the Nordic ones.

The German economic miracle is long over.

The Dutch bankers funded much of the American Revolution and have remained allies ever since. Working with Dutch is a pleasure, very professional but can take a joke and love to play when its time to play.

I have known Russians and worked closely with one during almost the last decade. Per him, Putin has destroyed the Russian economy for at least a decade. He cannot say as much as he'd like to as he is employed by a Russian oligarch (living in Switzerland)
