According to the Legion, the unit consists of two battalions.[1] Oleksiy Arestovych said that “dozens participate in conflicts, hundreds at training and up to 4,000 candidates”,[10] and that 250 new members joined the Legion in June 2022.[11]

That’s a loaded question to an extent of course, perhaps more simply - the US goal isn’t an immediate and definitive victory for Ukraine? Which still leaves the option of an eventual victory for Ukraine?

The fear is an immediate Russian collapse, nobody wants that to many risk for the winners, W Europe, US and China.

So a slow, methodical destruction of Russia (not one of the winners) mitigates some of those risk.

Yeah, and lifelong drunks are known for their thinking and decision making skills.

So can you give us a deep dive on the Ukrainian intervention in to Russia proper? Is this Big I or Little I?

Belgorod region just announced a counter-terrorist operation. This is now clearly shaping up to be a very serious development. The group did not pull out like in the March Bryansk incident. They are probably staying in and they're also very vocal about it. Crybar mentioned 8km of advance so far. It doesn't seem Russia is able to respond effectively.

Then why is Ukraine depending on Western approval? Sounds like self handicapping to me.

Why wouldn't you want Ukraine free to fight war as they choose? You know as well as I that this is imply a proxy war.

because the west (and the US have always politically handcuffed our troops overseas)

Ukraine has to get approval or risk the wesrtern aide. every thing the west has sent has come with preconditions of use.

And who is claiming this is not a proxy war? This is definately a proxy war. there have been numerous proxy wars between the US and USSR/Russia since the end of WWII. Korea was a proxy war, russian pilots even flew NK migs. Vietnam was a proxy war. Afghanistan was a proxy war. Even the middle east wars were proxy wars as russia tested its tans versus western tanks.

As the Wagner blogpost above indicated, Russia spent 10 billion rubles fortifying the border in this area with trenches and dragon's teeth.

And then those cunning, devious Ukraini **cough** Russian freedom fighters went right through the border crossing post. Who in Russia could have imagined that Ukraine would come up with such a sophisticated plan?

For our very heavily invested pro-Ukraine folks - do you agree with the sentiment that the US may have an interest in (and motivation) of a prolonged conflict?

the prolonging of the conflict is more an indirect response of the political nature of western leaders. Their fear of escalation and fear of Chinese response, and the slow rolling of aide and newer, more modern platforms (aka MBT, longer range munitions, and fighter jets) has had the effect of prolonging the conflict.

add in the slow rolling in of sanctions to Russia that has also prolonged the conflict.

history has shown you cant effectively fight a war if you are handcuffing youself politically...

Politards want to pretend that Ukraine started this war because Zelensky is a puppet of the New World Order, or something like that.

This is obviously a proxy war now. When Politards use the words "proxy war," they are alleging that America/Ukraine started the war, because Ukraine seeking NATO admission somehow forced Putin to invade Ukraine.

You need to learn to speak Tard if you want to know what those anti-Americans mean.
