Missiles strike administrative building in Enerhodar, Zaporizhzhia Province.

That’s on the east bank of the river. Either the Ukes have begun an offensive towards Melitopol or the Orcs are scorching the earth as they retreat from Zaporizhzhia, too.

No man now living has seen farther than George Soros. A brilliant man. He wrote this in 1993 - almost 30 years ago.

shite - how close is that to the nuclear power plant? That's where the Ukes have been planning to cross the river. It really must be happening.

It looks like it’s only about a mile from the NPP. The Orcs are saying that the Ukes tried to take the NPP but failed. That would not explain why the administrative building was hit. Russia playing more games, imo.

I think you are absolutely right, but losing Kherson will be a shock to the Russian public.

Good. Putin clearly isn’t interested in admitting he fricked up abs left Ukraine to the pre Feb 24 borders. Zelensky I suspect will agree to that and leave Crimea to Russia to stop the fighting but if they have to keep fighting and spilling blood then why stop? Take it all back from them if they don’t want to act with any sense and just withdraw. Putin’s ego won’t allow it, he doesn’t give a frick how many of his troops have to die, how many of his tanks get destroyed or how many of his aircraft and pilots get blown out of the sky. I’ve long said the Russian people should pull a Mussolini on Putin and hang him in the center of Moscow.

Question for the posters: If Russia blows up the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in the face of the Uke offensive, will that warrant troops on the ground from NATO?

The effects of the destroyed NPP would directly affect many NATO countries. Russia knows this. Would it count as an act of war against NATO?

Not really sure bud they would be playing with fire if they did. NATO will stay out of this with no boots on the ground if they can but if you blow a nuclear power plant who knows?

From what I have read Z has fortified the left bank of the river at Energodar very well. It will be a very difficult river crossing there if indeed that is what is happening.

I expect it would be considered similarly to use of a nuke.

No-fly zone and overwhelming conventional assets deployed against the Black Sea fleet.

The Russians should just pull back and out of the power plant but they are using it as a shield. Ukraine will have to take it with light infantry which makes things harder when you can’t bring your artillery on the line. They do have HIMARS though.

What does everyone think a post-conflict world looks like with respect to Ukraine’s security?

It’s obvious at this point that Ukraine will continue to exist; the only question that remains to be answered is how much of their land will be retained.

Anyway, I only see two outcomes: Ukraine will either get an Israel-like security guarantee, or develop their own nuclear program. It’s apparent the only thing that truly protects sovereignty is nuclear deterrent.

Will Ukraine get their security guarantee after this is over?

This thread is about the ongoing war, not potential political settlements.

Ukraine’s NATO accession has been discussed as well as Finland and Sweden.

Completely relevant to discuss and appropriate. Joe Biden and Fauci are not.
