Problem is, Russia is silent. They aren't pointing the finger at the us. I really don't see the plus side for Russia.

Kremlin: sabotage cannot be ruled out as reason for Nord Stream damage

quote:

Asked if sabotage was the reason for the damage, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters: "No option can be ruled out right now."

The Kremlin, Peskov said, was very concerned by the situation, which required prompt investigation as it was an issue affecting the energy security of the "entire continent".

"This is a very concerning news. Indeed, we are talking about some damage of an unclear nature to the pipeline in Denmark's economic zone," Peskov said. "This is an issue related to the energy security of the entire continent."

You have this world view that everything that happens is the worst, most corrupt, most evil, most dangerous, etc that will lead to some super world wide or American catastrophe. Somewhere deep down you don’t really believe it or you would be doing something extreme. Instead, you run to every corner of the internet looking for people that spew this stuff to feed your end of times fantasies as some form of entertainment.

The Russians have been trying to convince their people that they are under direct attack by the United States. This fits that false narrative.

I won't argue your point. It has merit.

Hopefully there will be some means to detect if any vessels were near the leak site before the leak. This will an interesting investigation that may depend upon the technological extent of oversea monitoring.

WTF kind of military encampment was that. Cub Scouts are better equipped. My estimation of the Russian military goes down every day. How are they going to equip tens of thousands more front-line troops if this is what they are doing now. No wonder our DOD budget is as high as it is.

Yes, I do. Of course we will have to see evidence on the issue, but Russia is not outside of suspicion.

@Apex_WW The CIA had weeks ago warned Germany about possible attacks on gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea, German magazine Spiegel said on Tuesday, after gas leaks in Russia pipelines to Germany were reported. @Reuters

Several European countries are saying Nord Stream as an intentional act. So next question is how the West/NATO responds to it. For discussion sake, does this attack warrant an Article 5 if Russia is proven to be the one responsible?
