It’s not the Washington Post. He just sourced them.
It’s not CBS, the red brigade sourced them last month.

It’s whomever writes something they don’t like.

So I decided to look into this to see what exactly Russia has plundered from Ukraine.

This is a map of Ukraine's mineral deposits, I don't have the ability to overlay a map of the current front lines; however, I'll post a map of those front lines so you can mentally overlay them.

Keep in mind Russia already controlled a portion of Donets region before this war.

From a mineral wealth standpoint, it doesn't look like they've gained all that much. That big cluster of resources in the east (Green/Yellow/Brown) is not currently under Russian control. It's in the salient that has formed in the east.

They had a deal in place before that with Sweden to acquire Gripens instead so Sweden is actively shipping their Gripens even with its relatively low numbers. I’m very vocal in saying I think that is the aircraft that needs to go to Ukraine as their future primary fighter. It really is perfect fit for them. Poland needs to hand over their 23 MiG 29s in the meantime. They know they will get f-16s from us to replace them. 35 fighters between Poland and Slovakia, even older Soviet fighters like the Mig-29, would mean a lot to Ukraine’s capability in the air.

I agree. The Gripen is the ideal fighter for the situation Ukraine is in. However, politics are getting in the way. The Swedes want their fighters to defend their air space. Saab doesn’t want to Sweden to swap some of its Gripens for F16s because now that Sweden is NATO they are eligible to buy F35s and Saab doesn’t want Lockheed to enter the picture in Sweden at all. Plus the Gripen uses some American technology and Lockheed is lobbying the US government to block the transfer of anything that is not the F16. Boeing is desperate to try to stay in the fighter game and thinks that if it can get the older F18s over there and they perform well then some of the other former Warsaw Pact nations might buy new super hornets. Too much bs all around. They should have picked a plane back in March or April and started figuring out what would be needed to train the pilots and ground crews, etc. After all they knew Ukraine was looking at the late summer to fight back. However, the west is too concerned with getting them SAMs which they do need but are not offensive weapons that can be used to retake their territory.

I’m not brainwashed. I’m just a little slow. I don’t have sources like you and the rest of the red brigade.

I read where Putin said he was going after the Nazis, I read where Putin was trying to bring back the old USSR, and I read where the West and NATO pushed Russia into war.

And just today I realized that none of that was true. Russia is just a greedy, money grabber who wants to steal from their neighbor. Thxs for the help. I should have known that all along.

It’s hard to imagine Russia is happy with the outcome so far. They have gained very little and appears to have expended a lot for so little.

Those of you who are saying that the USA and NATO are using this as an opportunity to learn how to fight Russia and countries supplied and trained by Russia are 100% correct. I was surprised by how many US and NATO officers and specialists were there. There was one Colonel on the train back who was downright giddy that Iran was sending drones to Russia and he was hoping that the rumors of the North Koreans coming was true. He figured that we would be fighting one of those two in the next 10-20 years so we need to see how they fight and how advanced their tech is.

Seems a rather obvious and logical thing to do, but damn if it is not fascinating thing to ponder.

It took months of ramming against Ukraine in the East for begin to budge them. I was not expecting a blitzkreig right into Kherson. Maybe you were.

Russia changed the name of McDonald’s to “Tasty Period.”

Can you, as a Russophile, explain why they would select such a disgusting name?

Not a Russophile but I did go down short rabbit hole yesterday as a result of this thread. The name is not a redlight district where one obtains their blood wings from a rotating group of whores it is what one might think, a period of the day when one gets some tasty treats.

The first thing I learned is Micky D's in Russia was known for impeccable service and service with a smile along with well-kept and clean dining rooms. The food is similar but not quite as good (subjective) but the thing that stuck out most is they have no fries on the menu currently. The service however did not come with a smile nor the accompanying cheerfulness. One reviewer called it sad.period. Except for the lack of fries and the fact the shakc machine was working the new company seems to have captured the modern Mcdonalds quite well.

If you want to see the largest thing that Russia has stolen. Look at Crimea’s offshore gas fields. Russia not only stole the gas fields that would have been billions for Ukraine and would made Ukraine energy independent.

Yeah we are going to openly admit to invading a country to acquire minerals/resources says no country ever unless you’re Hitler. The Operation Iraqi Freedom was to secure oil wealth disguised as expanding democracy.

They’ve literally gained the most economical regions of the Ukraine. Kiev and Lviv offer nothing but proxy wars and NATO fuel.
