Do you like Putin? Do you think he’s a good leader? More importantly, what’s your favorite fish?

No, I'm not a fan of Putin, I love my Motherland. Today, unfortunately, we are a better manager for the country than he unfortunately does not see.
I don’t want to change a good manager for another to see what happens.
Let me explain, Trump was a good president for the United States, he was replaced by another. You see the result yourself.
I don't want these results.
As for fish, I like muksun, white salmon (you don’t have it), sterlet and sturgeon.

Enough I am going to sleep. WeeWee I'll look here tomorrow, I hope for your proofs.

Lol. To play devil's advocate, Wikipedia to a Russian is probably as credible as a leading STEM journal to us.

O! The dude is up to date.
Well, show the scans of the counting commission, since the wiki does not suit you

If you are talking about Inconnu, Stenodus nelma, it is also found in Alaska.

Remember that Russia hammered away on the front in Donbas for months before finding any weakness. Russia has had time to prep defense in depth west of Kherson.

The conflict has offered the U.S. the rare opportunity to assess the HIMARS capability, and that of Russian defenses in action, one of the DoD officials said. U.S. officials are “a little surprised” at how well the HIMARS is performing — and by how poorly Russian defensive capabilities have fared against the attacks, the person said.

Ukraine having become a proving ground is just one of the many aspects of the war. HIMARS, facial recognition software, drones and loitering munitions, etc.

Next gen AI will be "on-the-loop"... where the munition runs the entire mission with an operator having only the ability to abort. Swarm technology in loitering munitions is already here, with augmented reality and prognostics, big data analytics and such not far behind.

Russia is getting first hand experienced fighting our weapons against a country that poses zero threat to them and will be sure to feed China it when they invade Taiwan…hey but Zelensky is a hero though.

Why do you keep bringing Zelensky up, sounds like you are in denial of your affection for him.

Russia isn't getting exposed to our best stuff; besides the data that Russia must be collecting on HIMARS, what else is there for them to collect data on? It's not like we're exposing very much to them.

not saying that Boris couldn't have done this, but the article literally disproves itself as hyperbole without actual backup

So after some more digging I found the original source material. I'm summarizing but it basically said that talks were progressing fine then 2 things happened,

1) Bucha and all the other things came to light

2) Boris went to Ukraine and basically said the West wouldn't sign a Treaty with Russia, but would sign a security guarantee with Ukraine. Basically there would need to be 2 treaties.

3) Russia wanted 1 Treaty not 2

4) Russia couldn't make any territorial concessions without Putins ok, and the delegation couldn't get ahold of him.

Take that as you will. But the Twitter accounts basically take that as Boris sabatoaged whatever deal was in the works. Not to me but yeah.

exactly what my friend who was an A-10 squadron commander recommended instead of A10's. Far less expensive too

18 wheelers to get supplies to the front as well. It is having to rely on the equivalent to the Paris Taxi Cab rescue of Paris during WWI This is the biggest problem, the closer to the from the more exposed transport become. So it takes weeks to build up supplies for a big effort.

The lack of trucks is a problem for Ukraine that will get worse as the Ukrainians advance. So far the railroads have kept Ukraine in the fight by moving supplies the 1000 - 1200 km from the Polish border to the fronts. Trucks have just had to supplement the rails. However, the Ukrainians will need trucks to transport from the railheads on the Dnieper to the front. The Russians will destroy the rails and the Ukrainians will be dependent on trucks and right now they don’t have them.

There are some interesting videos on Youtube of DARPA research into drone swarms.

One thing we haven't heard much about in Ukraine is the Switchblade drones we supposedly sent them. I wonder if they were deployed in quantity and how they did. The fact that there hasn't been much video released could lead one to conclude that they were a failure; however, it's also possible that the NDA's the Ukrainians had to agree to to get them prevented much video leakage.

Lack of trucking capacity seems like that would be a fairly easy problem for Ukraine to solve with the help of their partners.

Three tanks go out on a mission. Javelin team smokes one. Drone relays firing solution to M777 battery that smokes another.

Third tank returns to Russian lines and reports data. Both China and Russia are now in possession of valuable data on facing western arms.

I'm OK with this.

And if the data is “we don’t know what hit us, maybe we should rethink the whole fricking with the West thing” then they can have all the data they want.

CNN - US war gamed offensive with Ukraine

Pretty interesting article on the planning of this offensive and the US’s role as war consigliere for Ukraine.

“In the buildup to the current Ukrainian counteroffensive, the US urged Kyiv to keep the operation limited in both its objectives and its geography to avoid getting overextended and bogged down on multiple fronts, multiple US and western officials and Ukrainian sources tell CNN.

Those discussions involved engaging in "war-gaming" with Kyiv, the sources said -- analytical exercises that were intended to help the Ukrainian forces understand what force levels they would need to muster to be successful in different scenarios.

The Ukrainians were initially considering a broader counteroffensive, but narrowed their mission to the south, in the Kherson region, in recent weeks, US and Ukrainian officials said.”

“Still, despite a more bullish assessment of Ukrainian fighting capabilities, US officials aren't placing any bets that Ukraine will successfully retake Kherson -- yet.

"I'm not sure this is going to be the big, massive counteroffensive that folks might be waiting on — it might be a smaller number of forces," the US military source cautioned.”
