I’ve actually been surprised by the restraint Putin has shown in regards to civilian targets thus far.

They certainly don't look "fit"

I still think this will be a plus someway for Biden to get the popular votes back. Politics is involved somehow.
So you think Biden tricked Putin into attacking Ukraine to up his popularity?
Time for you to take a break from the internet my dude.

Mothers, wives, daughters of Russian soldiers! Take your men home. They came to a foreign land to kill innocent people, to destroy our homes. Your power is lying. The people of Ukraine meet them with weapons, not flowers. Demand from the authorities to stop the war of conquest, save your loved ones!
Those men look like truck drivers, not soldiers

Within Russia, it's one thing for Putin to kill Chechen separatists or Syrians through thermobaric weapons or chemical warfare. Few Russians have direct ties to those groups.
However, lots of Russians have close friends and family in Ukraine. I'm very concerned that the social media blocks in Russia are a prelude to more sinister engagement over the next couple of days.

Are they going to post more fake videos too?

Fellas, the way Ukrainians are being badass and trolling Russia at the same time is winning me over.
There have been some all time great lines so far in this war that will live in Ukrainian Infamy.
The 13 soldiers telling the Russia Warship to frick off.
Zelenskyy asking for more ammo and not a ride.
The Ukrainian Woman (Civilian) giving sunflower seeds to Russians while asking them to put them in their pocket so when they die the Ukranian national flower will grow.
The Ukranian man (Civilian) who asked a Russian Tank who gotten stuck (or ran out of gas) if he needed a tow back to Russia.

Sky News reporting that Russia is threatening to cut off diplomatic ties with all western countries and pull out of nuclear treaties.
Also all Russian opponents are withdrawing from soccer matches, and refusing to play in Russia.

Zelenskyy Twitter:
quote:Henry Foy:
I thank my friend Mr. President of Turkey @RTErdogan and the people of Turkey for their strong support. The ban on the passage of Russian warships to the Black Sea and significant military and humanitarian support for Ukraine are extremely important today. The people of Ukraine will never forget that!
quote:
Potentially huge development with major ramifications if correct that Turkey will close Bosporous to Russia’s warships entering Black Sea. Turkey is a @NATO member. Putin has warned of retaliation against third country’s “meddling” in his invasion of Ukraine

More EU countries close their skies to Russia - BBC News
quote:
More countries are banning Russian airlines from their airspace - the latest to announce such a move is the Baltic nation of Estonia, which borders Russia.
Fellow Baltic states Lithuania and Latvia are also preparing to take the step simultaneously, a statement by Lithuanian Transport Minister Marius Skuodis said.
Poland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic have also imposed bans.
On Thursday, the UK banned Russia's national airline Aeroflot from landing in Britain.
Writing on Twitter, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas called on all other EU countries to follow suit.
"There is no place for planes of the aggressor state in democratic skies," she said.

I have a feeling this will be on my great grandson’s history test.

I'd make the argument that Turkey is one of the most important NATO member.
Erdogan has been half in and half out at times. Buying Russian missile defense equipment which didn't make NATO happy but they have put 445K troops towards NATO which they have put up the second most troops. They are only behind the US. France is third with troops and that's only 208K.
ETA: frick Trudeau. Canada needs to step the frick up and add more than 71.1K troops to NATO, IMO. Romania provides more troops to NATO than Canada.

It would be glorious to see how badly Putin is melting down right now.

Russia will end up realizing the only half arse ally they have is China….and when the entirety of the west puts China on economic notice, they will lose them too.
What is frightening is when a man realizes he has nothing to lose. Putin is going in a dangerous direction and by his own fricking hand.

Even Hungary PM Orban has spoken out against Putin’s invasion. Seems the walls are closing in on Putin on the world stage, and he may have grossly miscalculated both fight of the Ukrainians and the lack of international support he’d receive. It’s not going to deter him, but he’s at risk of losing support within his oligarch network.
