Russia has invaded Ukraine under the last two Democrat Presidents. Russia didn't make a peep for 4 years when Trump was President.

But Trump was colluding with Russia and was Putin's puppet. Or something.

Putin perceives weakness and has taken what he's wanted when Obama and Biden were in the White House.

People are frickin retarded.

That whole Russian veto thing is going to be problematic at the UN.

Russia is going to wipe their dick on the feckless UN like Japan did to the League of Nations before WWII.

Bush was a weak President. The world was distracted by the financial crisis.

Russia was as quiet as they've been in a long time under the prosperity and strong leadership we had from 2017-Covid.

I use Reagan as my example because I believe he is the last American president that truly struck fear into the hearts of Russian leaders

It was all rhetoric for the public, Gorbachev knew the USSR had become a failed state under Brezhnev and detente was the only chance to save the country from collapse.

The shame is I believe Reagan and Gorbachev saw a future with warm relations between Americans and Russians, while those who followed in the 90s set us back decades.

People think this is the reasoning and it's not.

Trump was skeptical of NATO and didn't buy into their status quo bullshite. Obama/Biden helped stage a coup to expand NATO/EU to Ukraine and Putin didn't like it. When Trump took over, it was clear he didn't have the same motives as every president since HW Bush, thus the Ukraine tensions relaxed. Now that the media has built up muh Russia, and status quo Joe is back in, they've gone back to the 30 year strategy of fricking with Russia so they can expand their influence and this pops off as predicted. Of course, the media also has make Putin into the caricature that they've created so they don't look like a bunch of disingenuous assholes.

Where do you get this stuff lol? Ukraine is neither a member of NATO or the EU.

Bush 1 wanted to keep the Soviet Union together as he felt that was the most stable situation.

We should invade Cuba using the same argument. No one would expect it.

The fact that you didn't understand what I said there shows me you don't know what I'm talking about

He was literally impeached for withholding defense systems for Ukraine waiting for them to dig up some made up dirt on his election opponent's son. Of course, he also called for the end of NATO, a treaty literally created to oppose Russian aggression against the West.

He was also literally the first American president to give them lethal military munitions after Obama refused them.

Well Ukraine is not part of either, so they obviously haven't been expanded to Ukraine
