Terrible gas mileage, laughably unusable third row, mediocre infotainment system. Get a Yukon or a Tahoe and don’t look back.

2023 4Runners still have the old engines. I pulled the trigger on one and love it.

Consider a Grand Highlander instead.

Wife and I got one to DINK around in a couple of months ago. We were considering a highlander but it seemed silly not to get the little bit of extra room since it was still in the budget.

ETA I’m 6’1 and could handle the third row if needed but would prefer not to. Second row captain seats have lots of room. Third row is laid down most of the time and has a lot of storage space when laid down.

Cargo configuration is crap. I was looking forward to the new ones when they came out and once I noticed how the back was configured, I moved on to getting a Tundra.

Had you asked about the Jeep Wagonneer, you would've had 50 posts telling you to buy the Toyota. Now, they'll try to talk you out of it

Whoever is running Toyota right now is making a lot of bad decisions.

We have loved ours so far.

If I had to trust one manufacturer on their hybrid tech, it would be Toyota. I hear mostly good things about the newer Hybrid Siennas but it certainly doesn't have the get up and go the old V6 had.

I’ve read that the new land cruiser will only be available with a turbo 4 cylinder. Pretty sure they’ve only ever been offered with the v8. Pretty unbelievable.

The new "landcruiser" is a totally different model before. It will be smaller than the sequoia.

I have no fricking clue what Toyota is doing with their SUV lineup.

Corolla Cross
Rav 4
4Runner
Venza
Highlander
Grand Highlander
Landcruiser
Sequoia
Bz4X

Hybrids are great.
Wife has a ‘22 Prius-65 mpg.
I have a 2020 Hybrid Highlander,rides like a dream,gets up and goes when passing.35 mpg.
We also have a ‘16 Prius grandson in college is driving.,gets 50 mpg.

I’m going to get a Hybrid Tacoma that’s coming out ‘24.

We looked.

Premium priced and hiked at dealers. $90k and that’s a nope.

Like the aesthetics and reputation but it’s just not a fit esp with the 3rd row seat being jacked up. Cargo area gets fricked and an adult can’t reasonably use it.

We’ve settled on the Suburban Z71

Incorrect. The Land Cruiser always had the inline-6 until 1998 when they switched to the 2UZ (4.7L V8).

2022 TRD here. It’s a tractor and I love it.

They soon will fall in the FJ Cruiser collectibility arena due to all the fundamental changes Toyota is making.

No space behind the 3rd row but other than that, it’s a good suv.

Toyota gasoline engines are great ( or have been pre turbo everything). Enjoy your hybrid, I do not want one.

Wife had a 2014 2 WD and she loved it. It rode great and was a work horse as far as hauling kids and gear for kids etc. It guzzled the gas though...about 10 MPG if memory serves. She put a little less than $300k on it and we never did anything other than normal maintenance. Very nice vehicle. Very expensive, very expensive to keep fuel in it.

Then in 2008 it went to 5.7l V8.
