My youngest didn't learn cursive in school. He claimed he couldn't read cursive. I had him read a card from his grandmother (written in cursive), he read it just as good as me. If you can read print, you can read 99% of cursive.

Read? Pretty frequently. Write…

Many moons ago when I was taking the LSAT, there was an “oath” you had to copy and sign swearing that you weren’t cheating, etc. The paragraph had to be copied in cursive. I hadn’t written in cursive in over a decade.

I had to focus more on copying that fricking paragraph than I did any other section of the actual test

Now I write in my own bastardized print/cursive hybrid, like god intended.

you sure about that?

This is very similar to the documents I've been trying to decipher, only the one I have is worse handwriting.

Not saying I can't figure it out; I am saying its giving me a headache.

I was friends with an engineer at LSU in the 1980s and adopted his Germanic style of block print lettering and haven't written a stitch of cursive since.

I still have my old notebooks from my history classes and when I made the switch I can actually read what I wrote back then... The cursive not so much.

Everyday at work. My boss only writes in cursive. My youngest just asked me to teach her how.

Lots of terrible handwriting in 1865.

I know that we also see these great documents from back in the day with great calligraphy. But most letters and stuff had shitty handwriting.

Cursive is faster and more efficient. Plus if some states that it’s hard to read, well you know who you are dealing with.

About a week ago. I needed some irrigation help and the guy wanted a check. So I wrote it in cursive. I'm sure he hiding his income from someone. He had to come back a day or so later and I just handed him some cash.

A few years back, we got a new guy in the office who was around 25. I gave him a bunch of notes all written in cursive and he could not read it.

I write in a mostly illegible hybrid of print and cursive, so I guess every day?

I learned a few months ago that it is a sign of trauma and common among serial killers

Maybe I should change it.

let's have a write-off. I bet I can write faster in my little German block letters that you can in cursive. I've honed the skill for decades
