This is a great question - for an actual televised commercial, it's tough to think of something.
For Facebook ads, though - I buy shite all the time. Those MFers know my blood type, pooping schedule and biometrics, though (probably).

This is what advertising is for.
Now, I will say during Christmas times we (my wife) buys toys based off of commercials my kids see

NEVER.
I cannot understand how people are dumb enough to buy somehting because (a) a sports figure tells me it's the best; (b) the manufacturer tells me the tests they paid for, in the airtime they paid for, were good.
LIke wtf do I look utterly stupid?

Last time a commercial influenced me over anything was when I was four and wanted a Marvel Mustang for Christmas. It did NOT work for me like it did for the kids in the commercial. I learned early that advertising was bullsh*t. (Still have the Marvel Mustang though, and all the nieces and nephews actually enjoyed it when they were little.)

Its mainly food. Video games. If it looks good, yeah.
If its a product, the commercials may get me to research it. Not necessarily purchase it, but I guess that may count.

My parents did when I was a little kid. I’d see some cool toy ad while watching Saturday morning cartoons and say mom and dad I want that for Christmas. Then when the wish book catalog would come in I’d see if it was in there.

Only food-related commercials are effective on me

This was pretty much what I was going to say though not FB specifically because I almost never use it but internet ads in general. My best friend tells me I have a tool fetish and the internet knows it, especially this time of year I am targeted with tons of tool ads. I have been getting boxes with Knipex, NWS, Wera, Festool, Blue Spruce, Woodpecker, etc tools near daily for the last month or so.
I can't really put my finger on anything from a TV ad I have bought but the best ads are surreptitious enough you don't even realize they impacted you. My BIL has spent his career working at places like BBDO, Leo Burnett and McCann as a creative, and listening to him talk about advertising is fascinating.

I watch more YouTube than traditional TV/Cable these days, so I'm not even sure the last time I've seen a commercial.

Elon Musk suggested that large advertisers really weren't selling stuff as much as pushing political stuff

Montero Sport commercial back in 1999 or so. The first year they came out I think. Went and leased one.
Yeah, I'm dumb.
Yeah, I'm dumb.

TV or internet?
Recently, I saw a flash offer on Facebook for something called the Edge Wallet for only 9.99 each with an Airtag Pocket. So I bought 3 for Christmas presents, a few days pass and I finally check their shipping information, and see that they can take up to a week before it ships. Then I finally get tracking, it is in China. Then a few hours later I get 2 emails describing a a fire incident at their warehouse and they are not going to be able to meet any Christmas delivery expectations.
Should I cancel for possibly being scammed?
