I don't know, just did a quick search of used cars in my area, and the Sequoias of the same year and with similar mileage were going for a lot more than Expeditions and Yukons. In a couple of examples the Sequoia with more miles than the Yukon was listed higher than the Yukon.
Of course I didn't drill down into trims of each, just a quick search. And that doesn't take into account more recent year models. I looked at ones 2012-2015. Maybe the paradigm is changing with recent updates to the Expeditions, Yukons, Suburbans, and Tahoes.

Resale on a 14yr old LC is still 20k

I'd pay $20k for a 2007 Landcruiser if it was a relatively low miles one, and had good service records. Those things will go to 500k miles if they're properly cared for.
Most 2007 ones though are over 200k miles and are closer to the $15-$18k range.

Get you the new Kia “van” that’s coming out this year, lots of space and won’t break the bank.

Go hang out on iH8MUD...those are the ppl. Then put another $15k in to make them indestructible off-road machines.

Grom Audio plug in will fix the Car Play issue.
That lets you run apps on the factory stereo?

For $15K in hardware, I can make a Ford Escape into indestructable off road machine.
Nothing you do to a fat assed J200 can make it smaller, lighter, and into what you really want....which is a Land Cruiser J70. Or even an N280 4Runner.

Yes. The $600 full infotainment cpu replacement is very popular with the older LC/LX/GX crowd because it does everything a new headunit would do but retains the factory climate controls. For a more current cars they have $200 piggyback unit.

$15k goes quick on a 100 series. Those are Dissent bumpers on that one and is easily $5k for the front and rear.

I don’t believe you.

Would like to hold off for the redesigned Sequoia, but not sure how I feel about V6/hybrid vs the tried and true V8.
I've been following the coming redesigns of the Tundras and Sequoia. Does anybody else think the last of the Toyota V8's will be highly desired on the used market?
I'm sure the new V6 will power the trucks fine, but its still a V6 in a big truck. Toyota is only switching to the V6 to meet government mandates.
I think there will still be some people who will always be looking for the tried and true, ultra dependable, brawny Toyota V8.

The J100 landcruiser is perfect aestically in my opinion. The newer LC’s look too much like a minivan in the back. Hopefully Toyota goes back to the “boxier” look with their redesign and not the “bubbly” look (which is why I prefer the first gen Sequoia look to the newer one as well). Not really a fan of the monstrous Lexus LX grill either.

What would you do?
Stick with a Toyota product, make it either Sequoia-sized or LC-sized.
The right used vehicle of those choices would be OK.
The GM Tahoe/Suburban variants are good, but they are not Toyotas.

What about a tundra or another 4 door truck with a truck cap on it? Got the interior room you need with the back for storage.

I cant believe Toyota is discontinuing the LC for the American market. Quite literally the stupidest thing they could do.
Makes me want to buy a recent one and keep it forever, as I'm sure the value will shoot up. Doug DeMuro recently did a great video on it ( LINK)
This is coming from a 4th gen 4Runner owner (with 180k+ miles) and a '15 Sequoia owner (currently around 50k miles). Both trucks are bullet proof.
I do like the way those new Yukon AT4s look. Wouldn't mind picking up the XL version of that if it ever comes out.

They're selling 4000 a year. 12 a day across 50 states or so. It's not worth the time really.
