No Airline Motors, Roussel's, and others. The ups and downs of the petrochemical industry eventually killed a lot of that area's unique identity.

Did they turn it into a Hustler store like they did on Airline in BR?

Exactly what happened, as well as people attaining higher education, and moving to cities for work and the surrounding towns in the parish eventually became run down. Of 10 aunts and uncles of mine raised in that area, only one lives there, and they commute to NO for work. It’s sad really. The other family left there work in family run businesses that has been around for a really long time, or at plants. I remember when it was a lot better place to live and raise a family.

It's awful.
Growing up there in the late 80's and 90's wasn't bad.
But it's definitely gotten exponentially worse.
