Maybe it's just me, but those statues don't really fit the history of the city.
The south never really controlled the city, and didn't become a confederate city until after the war .

If you google Robert E Lee, you come up with a whole slew of recent news articles. This is happening everywhere. North, South, East, West. Renaming streets, schools, monuments, etc.
