Have a friend that has her mom in the memory ward at Lambeth. This tough ole Eastern European 96 year old contracted C-19 & recovered. How many have died in Lambeth? As of March 31, 11 deaths with 50 positive patients.

Needless to say, mom is out of there. Friend has her in an AirBnb with her and a 24 hour nurse. Lambeth calls to say, she can stay, but the memory ward is closed. The reply was something to the effect of, “Now why would I want to do that.”

Their reply ? Well, you have a contract and will have to continue to pay for the vacant bed! She has been there more than two years at five figures a month.

So much for the compassionate care from Lambeth. If one single business fails in NOLA because of C-19, I hope they are on the top of the list. Schmucks !

If she is contracted for memory care and it's not available, that should void the contact, yes? Also, it's arguable that they can't provide a safe envoronment which should void the contact as well.

It's really a fancy retirement home/community with a nursing component if needed, but I'm sure it feels exactly like a nursing home right now with all the deaths and depression. I'm sure the place being on lock-down to visitors was not in the contract, so I would say that's one good reason for being able to break the contract without penalty.

I thought there were at least 16 dead from there.

Must have been hell on those residents and their families.

Edit: It was 18 as of a week ago.

A letter from their lawyer would probably resolve that situation quickly.

Started a thread on this yesterday. There are people who will defend them to the death.

Usually someone who operates one or works for their incredibly well connected and deep pocketed lobby.
