Anybody ever used them? All dam doctor offices around here has been closed from last Friday. Even called a friend, a GP doctor. He is out of town.

Problem, this dam cold has me drowning which is not good. I already have a hard time due to HF.

Thinking I really need to see a doc today.

You need a cortisone shot and a quick round of antibiotics. If you go in, that's what they will give you.

Then this message board will tell you how bad antibiotics are for you and how you're destroying humanity.

We use Costal Urgent care on bluebonnet near Burbank. We've had very good experiences with them. We also took my elderly parents there before.

It's not so much that as it is wildly unnecessary based on tons of supporting evidence, but people like them, so urgent cares tend to be stacked with people willing to write them to increase patient satisfaction and justify higher-complexity on their billing to gain business to continue to practice shitty medicine because people like it rather than get care worth much of anything.

That said, most folks are a bit more liberal with them on the Friday before a long weekend or a big Holiday, just in case.

Been fighting it 10 years now. Was told 5 years ago to take care of my final wishes.

We've used Lake after hours on Jefferson and the Baton Rouge Clinic after hours at Perkins and Essen many times in the past. Both have been good and really haven't ever had any complaints other than they really only prescribe enough medicine to get you through long enough to go see your regular doctor.

Dude. Go to CVS Minute Clinic. Your regular copay will apply and the NP there will test you for flu, evaluate you, write scripts. etc.

My gf had the flu a few years ago and went ON Xmas Day. I went last year when I knew I had the flu.
It's legit for this kind of minor stuff. And VERY QUICK. They'll be open today and tomorrow at Perkins Row CVS for sure.

Oh. You may be closer to this Lake After Hours in Zachary. It's 25 miles from New Roads. I went to them twice, a few years ago when I worked in Zachary.
Good people there.

A steroid shot for a CHF patient seems a recipe for water retention and volume overload. Don’t get medical advice on the OT.
