Just forwarded to my parents. Thanks for what you’re doing! Hopefully they leave me some leftovers for Sunday!

Sulphurians, this looks to be a home across the street from Angelico Construction just west of the Donut Hole intersection. Backs up to Frasch softball complex which I believe is/was being used as a staging area for power crews. Hopefully traffic isn’t too much of a mess today for you guys, 90 was been a cluster.

Do we need to board windows back up with all the debris out?

Am I wrong being upset at the for profit out of state workers waiting in line taking the free water, ice and MREs?
The lineman doing it I'm cool with but frick anyone already here profiting off of the storm taking resources from those that need it.

The assholes with tree company magnets on the doors of their pickups tailgating through 4 way stops is my post Laura pet peeve. Most of them have that Mississippi lean or whatever the frick that is when the truck looks like it’s permanently going up a hill.

SWLA Lawmakers taking Suddenlink reps to the woodshed for their piss poor response to getting internet services back online.

I don’t have an issue with it for the first few days when eating places are few and far between but once those places start opening up, they need to leave those resources for those in need.

Anyone know how to donate a dishwasher and kitchen sink that came out of my house that’s getting renovated? I hate to throw this stuff away.

Would have loved to go do a meet and greet with you. Missed your location post but Unfortunately/fortunately I have a small service company that is in very high demand at the moment so I would have missed out anyway.
Most work in Moss Bluff and lake chuck. Doing sulphur jobs next week weather permitting.
I do appreciate you and your groups efforts!! Damn good job bud!

Anyway, I was loading up the truck this evening, and was wondering if anyone can tell me if basic services are coming back online over there? I mean, is it possible to swing by Walmart and get a pack of Powerades or razors or whatever? Are there at least some restaurants (i.e., Subway, MickeyDs) open in the area?
Planning to bring a case of water, a few soft drinks, some breakfast bars, and a few snacks. Wondering if there's anything else y'all think I should bring for the stay? I mean in addition to the 9mm that's always a companion of mine on these kinds of trips.

Yes and more everyday.
Fuel Is much easier to get, a lot of stores are now open although hours are curtailed. Every waffle house and dominos are open lol. Quite a few food places are opening up but still with limited menus. Rouses, walmart, sams etc are open. Some until 7 which is the current parish curfew.
Power still out for much of the area (mine still out lol) but getting better everyday.

You should be fine man. There are plenty of stores and food places open, all accepting cards. You may wait in lines for lunch but it hasn’t been third world since like day 2 after landfall.
KPLCTV.com will give you a list of what’s open.

Sorry for not updating.
served over 800 plates of jambalaya. Not sure how many hamburgers and hot dogs but 200-300 of each if I had to guess.
Also gave out alot of toiletries and dry goods that were donated.
Trying to get another one scheduled.

We finally have electricity as of a few hours ago. Looks like Entergy has about 70 to 80 percent of their customers in SWLA back up which is amazing to accomplish in just 4 weeks considering the scope of damage

After I saw this post I looked at the entergy outage map. I’m very impressed how far they’ve come.

It looks like they have us staying in/near the ghetto, but we usually take over hotels when 50+ of us arrive en masse, so not anticipating any problems on that front.
Mainly worried about staying dry depending on what Beta decides to do, although I'm seeing some rainfall totals suggesting Baton Rouge may end up taking the brunt of that.
Looking forward to seeing the damage firsthand myself and maybe getting a few of you LC baws connected back up to TD.com.
