They quoted a friend $40,000.00 after he had gutted 3 rooms himself. LOL.

Got a meter from a friend and determined we dried it out pretty well with blowers, a dehumidifier, and spraying bleach from a pump sprayer to limit mold growth every 2 days. Servpro are fricking crooks, but they're making a killing right now in Lake Charles

ETA: and fricking glad we did a good job drying it out. Only reason I stayed on generator power for 10 days sweating my arse off was mitigation.

I gather there are portions restored but not entire campus. My wife is radiology.

Amen to this. GAF shingles- which were already limited due to Covid, and synthetic felt is golden.

I got all 4 of my houses demolished and piled up by the side of the road by Sunday. The contractors assigned to our area for pickup jumped on my huge pile Monday morning. I was surprised because they passed a lot of other piles and went straight to mine. I assume because my pile was by far the biggest in the area.

I still have tons of cleanup left. Planning to look for work in the area and stay around to work on my cleanup.

Great to hear. I will post any crooks and shady dealers on here so we can help each other avoid them. I realize we have some that don’t post but monitor.

Check with your local State Farm office. My agent’s office in LCH is a pickup spot, so I assume the donations are coming from somewhere.

Someone is having some fun with the hurricane Laura wiki page. Specifically the impact on Louisiana.

I know this a very minor thing to ask about, but does anyone know if either movie theater in Lake Charles made it through with little damage? Haven't been by either yet.

Love it! The day after I got power, I didn't look at that map once. It was so nice to not be wondering if today was gonna be the day. Since then, I look twice a day and read the daily update. The progress they've made is incredible. Hopefully the rest of our city gets it soon!

Talked to a friend that works at a dump site, said barista was dumping a bunch of speakers. Water damage

Talking to some linemen down there last week, they initially were shooting for today. Considering how all of those poles looked, getting by the 20th ain’t too shabby.

My prays are with y'all. Had passed thru the area. 20miles east of LC and about 15 miles west was unreal off I10. I'm sure north and south of the path is just as bad. Just wished I could of done more.

Saw progress in the area, thank God.
