I'm in Southeast Lake Charles and I'm still without power. I just hope and pray this tropical weather doesn't delay it much more. I need some sense of normalcy back.

If you’re in the Manchester area like me, we might be looking at three more weeks.

Where can I find tarps in LC?
Didn’t take pic of mil roof prior to tarping and adjuster wants pics so I need to untarp and retarp. Don’t have time to call anyone with rain and wait see if they come.

Agreed. Just keep in mind green means able to provide power, not able to accept it.

Try Stine on Nelson. At one point you could get 1 large tarp from the Red Cross/FEMA/Nat Guard lines around town.

I heard a rumor that those without power shouldn’t expect it before they try bringing the plants online to make sure they don’t overload the new grids. I sincerely hope that rumor is false for your sake, but it came from someone reputable in industry.

Yes they did. We were told last week they were looking to put in a generator at one of the sub-stations and get power to us but not really a timeline on when. I ended up coming back to Houston to take care of things on this end then head back after Beta passes. Not much I can do on my property with all the rain currently falling.

I have a camper coming over in about a week. If I have to keep running off a generator then that's what I'll do.

They were handing them out at the civic center and KC Hall in Iowa but I believe they've halted that. You could still get them as of Thursday at Hackett's corner going down to Cameron.

Anyone received their insurance check for a larger Dwelling claim? Seems like all the insurance companies are hesistant to put out that first claim. Maybe it's setting the $ market for the rest of the insurance companies and the contractors...

I'm awaiting an Allstate claim for 3-400k hopefully. Allstate has been helpful and responsive so far, but my adjuster made his first visit on August 31st, so I've been waiting 3 weeks now.

I'll have to get bids and select a contractor to reframe and re-roof. Then can move on to renovating the whole damn thing.

If you have a mortgage don't expect them to endorse that check without you jumping through many hoops. U-arse Bank told me they will need contractors w9, license #, his estimmate, insurance estimate and they will send draws to contractor. Any money left over my contractor will give me less taxes
Will take some time since my ins company still hasn't paid any of my ALE.
Civic center was closed today back tomorrow.

I live about 5 miles south and slightly west of the Manchester area, near Highway 397. We got a text from Entergy on the 17th that we should be back on by yesterday. Well, that didn't happen. It's weird because when I look at the Entergy outage map it shows green, but when you zoom in closer to my house it goes to red. Do you know why that would be? You have Jeff Davis Electric?

I’m on Jeff David electric on the Manchester substation and I was told by a buddy who is a lineman that we’re looking at about three weeks. If you’re on entergy then you’re probably a lot sooner.

I'm just down the road (and line) from you two. You could have identified my by my pile of debris last week but it has already been picked up.

Do you have something wrong where you can’t take power? Service drop damaged? A lot of lines can turn green but it’s not until the customers report they don’t have power can Entergy really get to the root of the problem

Working over here for their competition (Lily, Inc.), and 9/10 jobs I’ve handled so far have been customers leaving Suddenlink (and bitching about them for days).

Hell, they provide hsia and tv for the hotel we’re staying in, and it is still out.

I will be one of those many customers very soon. I hope it’s a long line (behind me).
