While I know most of stuff is open, I've heard there are still areas that are almost inaccessible, and nothing is going in or out.
Just trying to be of help since I have the means, and capability to get into places most can't.
Honestly I want to take my 11yo over with me so she can realize, and see what it means to lose everything, and help others. I know there are still tons of people over there that if nothing less may just need a ride out to get things in order.

You should consider taking her down to let her see for herself. This place is extremely messed up and facing years of recovery. I know plenty of people who know that their houses will be a demo that are living in campers, tents or other people's houses.
I'm taking a ride down to Grand Chenier tomorrow with my stepdaughter to get a look at her grandfather's place for the first time. I'm anticipating seeing nothing but a slab of cement.

I don’t know that I would do that.

While Lake Chas was bad it wasn’t until I went to Hackberry after Rita that it really hit me emotionally. They really haven’t seen a major storm since Audrey up to that point. I need to go down there but haven’t had the opportunity since helping family in LC. Spent many a day in Cameron parish hunting, fishing , crabbing , cooking , drinking and playing bourre.

Memorial Hospital generator up in flames

Rode down to Creole, Grand Chenier and Cameron today. Creole and Grand Chenier are 99% wiped out. There is literally no signs that houses existed on most cement slabs and the houses and any traces of them are just gone. Rutherford beach now has this 4 foot or so tall yellow sand dune down it and the old brown sand beach is part of the GOM.
The storm surge was several feet higher than Rita.

Damn man hate to hear that. Rode Rutherford beach many times for miles on 4 wheelers and dirt bikes with the kids, nephews and cousins.

Damn that looks earlier on in the day too. Wife is an employee and there was a FB pic floating around from this evening snapped from a vehicle. Wife said it looked like it was probably near ER.

I'm back in LC. Most of you have my email. Reach out if you need anything.

I am too. Still in need of water restoration company if you know any. I can’t get anyone to return my calls.

Oh and I was quoted $300/square on the nose for roof today.

Looks like the 3rd avenue entrance near MOB 2. Somewhat close to ER but I doubt ER shut down. Maybe sent EMS to st pat's for a couple hours

Servpro called me back quickly. Wanted $4000 total with half up front to treat one 300 Sq ft office and some wet flooring that got splashed in the next room. Hard pass for us.

They quoted a friend $40,000.00 after he had gutted 3 rooms himself. LOL.
