i got 9 votes for County Judge in 22

The threshold to be mentioned by name in the voting reports that are certified by Commissioners Court is 10

but the new Clerk called and told me

One of my old buddies claimed it was him and some friends that wanted to get me to 10,, as a post stroke pick me up but somebody forgot to do it
which I thought was funnier

I don’t live in LC but it seems like Hunter has done a good job guiding LC through COVID and all the hurricanes. LC people what are y’all’s opinions?

What’s sad is that LC only had 12k votes in a mayor race

He's done fine. The bond stuff for development he passed seems to actually be doing stuff.

I'm skeptical of the low-income housing complex they just built in downtown. If that doesn't turn into a shite hole, however, it will be really good. He has to give a bone to the black community b/c LC is majority black. The development replacing Brownsville should do wonders for that area by the mall.

The development on the lake seems to be really good. The idea they have to replace the Capital One Tower seems pretty great. That + connecting Sallier to the casino area will be really good, IMHO.

I don't think we're doing a pier. Just building stuff between the roadways and the water. A museum, brewery, etc.

Adding Hunter’s total to the other Republican’s total comes to 7,167.

Adding Simien’s total to the Democrat and the other Independent totals comes to 6,955.

That’s a 212 vote difference. Razor thin.

Looks like Khalid Taha was the spoiler in this race.

Nic seems to have done well as mayor, the son of a classmate of mine, Chuck Hunter. Chuck could have at least played on Saturday nights as a LB back then. Football just wasn't his thing after 10th grade.

Is the city reserve funds still chock full as they were 20 years ago. It made some great decisions in the early 90's for the future.

A lot of the residents live outside the city limits to the south. Not having lived there in over 2 decades I would think this is majority GOP voters
