And apparently a lot of northeasterners remember that.

LOL. As if leftists needed that to hate others even more.

It was hilarious watching Obama completely bail on them. They are still waiting on bailouts in some of those areas.

The comments about claiming to want less government only to beg for federal government help are correct though. Which is it? Those are the sacrifices that come with lowering governments influence in your life. They won’t be your sugar daddy anymore.

That's true.... When it actually happens and is the case. Until then, supply the aid that's needed because that is what my tax dollars pay for too.

Not all, a lot talk about how they could actually manage the forest and do things to protect themselves, but there are a lot of comments that mirror those.

Sure, there are people who will shite on California for the wildfire response, but pointing out the lack of forest management and how it is a huge contributor to the massive, record-breaking fires over the past few years isn't comparable here. It is a huge contributing factor that has to, and thankfully is starting to, be addressed. When even the environmental nuts have started recognizing our country's putting out every single fire for over a century is a problem, that lack of management should be pointed out endlessly.

There's not much any state can do about getting bowled over by two major hurricanes in a season, then having a significant flood event later to boot.

Social media is vile. Period.

Lake Charles did not create the natural disasters it has suffered. A better example of that would be CA and its wild fires directly resulting from its piss poor forest management practices.

I’ll wait for those same trolls to blast CA the next time it puts its hand out for Federal Aid for a problem it 100% contributed to.

I don't think they know enough about history to realize what they are setting in motion for the future.

There are no more liberals. Democrats are progressives, the lower IQ cousin of liberals.

I live in Alexandria, VA and work in downtown DC. These attitudes are very common in the local swamp population. Usually cloaked in nicer language, but the sentiment is there.

Don't reciprocate hate with hate. Lake charles residents didn't create the hurricanes or floods just like Californians didn't create the heat wave. Both couldve been better prepared

Stout - How is the LC real estate market looking these days? I hear a lot of people have left town.

Alot have left, but much of that is due to many still fixing their house.

as far as the market goes....fricking stupid. Anything in the 3-500k range is selling stupid fast, i.e. under a week.

between 185 & 300 is selling many times within hours.

there are some exceptions but its a sellers market for sure.

Hate.. what hate?

Progressives are the most uninformed of American ideologues. Facts aren't "hate"

Many of the people there don't want to move and have some conspiracy they are only being forced out so the land can be commercially developed.

thats what so funny. WHO THE frick would want to live in an area that floods over and over and is the most dangerous and crime ridden area in lake charles....why would you not want to move?

I have read the comments about, just being redeveloped once the flooding issue is taken care of.......WTF does tha have to do with moving your family to a safer neighborhood with better schools/

its like that community doesnt want to live in nicer areas with high class people surrounding them. Who gives a frick about race...protect and better your family.

La get hit with Cat 4 and cat 5 storms and it’s just another year living on the coast. The NE gets hit with a Cat 3 hurricane in 2012, I think, and it’s labeled “Super Storm Sandy”! Absolutely ridiculous!

You realize that happens for the same reasons the south freaks out when there is an inch of snow right? Sandy caused over $60 billion in damages

Hope I can get $500 for mine when I'm done repairing it. Just bought it in March damaged but already have my eyes on something else.

To be fair, if they get fair market value for their houses, that doesn't leave them being able to afford much. The argument for many is they'd have to have a mortgage or rent when they currently live in a paid off house.

Insert graph on gun ownership (here).

Maybe it's time we just take the North back and eject these liberal cucks to Canada. They can't cut us off from the guns and ammo this time.
