Drive to Franklin parish and talk to some
white chicks at Walmart. The ones that don't have a ghetto clip talk like her. Then there's the ones that have the terrible mix of the two.

Not sure if they're all vaxed though. I know that's a big deal for you.

I’ve been to Franklin Parish many times, and I have yet to encounter someone that talks like her

I grew up in Winnsboro (10 minutes from where Laney grew up) in Franklin Parish and dated a girl from Baskin, none of us spoke like that. There were some bad red neck accents but nothing like she’s adding.

There are probably a lot of 50+ year olds who never left their small north Louisiana who speak like her

Not really. Her accent is pretty fake. I know plenty of people from Baskin, Mangham, Taululah, all around there with thick arse accents and they ain’t that

Even if they are from North Louisiana, you can generally when someone is from Louisiana.. And if they are from Louisiana and don't really have a noticeable accent they don't talk like she does. She has a "country" accent. I think that's how she really talks... now, but it was manufactured. No one from Louisiana sounds like that. People who sound like that might move to Louisiana, but they are not from Louisiana.

Go to Grant, LaSalle, Caldwell, Winn, Catahoula, Concordia, Franklin, Tensas, Richland and Madison Parishes. You will run into them.

Mingo speaks the truth. I have my family name on streets in small arse north La town. My entire moms side is also from Tallulah as well

Thick arse accents? Yes, even thicker than hers. But the way she talks, accentuates , cadence, etc is ridiculous. It’s a broadway version of a north La accent

I don’t think there are many ~30 year olds who moved to Nashville when they were 20 (just guessing) who genuinely speak like that

That's what I'm thinking also. Feels exaggerated. Younger people tend to not have thick accents like older folks do. Even my husband whose parents have very thick New Orleans accents doesn't have it nearly as strong.

Although I will say.. I have a friend from Ville Platte, and she has the Cajun accent you only ever hear on older generation folks. Cracks me up. So does that chick on Instagram with the cooking page. @britscookin

It’s not fake. I have family who live down the road from her parent’s house in Baskin. They all sound like that.

She definitely hams it up with the aints and all that shite. But her accent is pretty normal for the ones who don't talk ghetto. Especially when heard on TV

No they don’t

Her “accent” isn’t even the stereotype for that area.

There is far more “honk” on the rural arse accents up there and far far less drawl

I don’t know how else to describe it

I’m from Catahoula Parish and grew up about 15 miles from her. We don’t talk like her. There’s twang in our accent, for sure. But she’s created her own and tried to combine Texas, north Louisiana, northern Mississippi, and Georgia all into one. It’s embarrassing

I know her uncle, he farms between Crowville and Baskin. They have an accent but not nearly as put on as hers.
