They are looking for you, Clean. Do you have some fresh glazed in the vehicle?

Cops don’t pay me any mind.
I have an old beat up truck.
I can’t afford a speeding ticket, though

You're right.
You better be safe and stop by Walmart and grab yourself a couple of boxes of Massengill.

What ever came of this?
Lost in all the dumbassery of this thread is the fact that it was cleared after police were able to identify a person of interest who was seen with a shotgun outside of a his car. The person left the garage, police were able to contact him and confirm that he was ok, and was merely transporting a shotgun without a case. So apparently, he was moving some things around in his vehicle, and happened to take the gun out to a point that someone saw it and was concerned enough to contact police.
I don't really see an issue here. It would be off to see a shotgun in downtown Lafayette, and if you aren't paying really close attention to what is really going on, it might be concerning to some. Given the shooting in Lafayette not too many years ago, and the shootings elsewhere, it's a "better safe than sorry" situation.
And I don't get the stance on open carry. I'm not opposed to it, but anyone who thinks carrying a shotgun or rifle into public places should just be considered normal is off their rocker. It's not normal, and it's going to turn heads. I don't have an issue with it, but it's going to turn heads, and this WILL be the response in most cases.
I don't know if anyone in this thread has made that argument, but I've seen it made multiple times on the stories about this on Facebook pages. People just aren't going to ignore that like it's no big deal.

You do realize there was a mass shooting in this City about 5 years ago, right?
On July 15, 2015 we had one here.
We still don't freak out and go into massive overreaction when a firearm is seen.

Well of course not...it's Baltimore.

Baltimore?
The fact you live in an absolute shithole does not mean everyone else does.

Who else had a shooting on July 15, 2015?
Oh sorry, so which one is it, Atlanta, Detroit, or Cleveland? Lmao!
Shithole? That's pretty funny coming from a guy who says his town doesn't freak out at a long gun in an odd place. Seems to me that's the questionable reaction. Who doesn't get nervous about a long gun in an urban area where they aren't common?

From the information I heard the guy was transporting the shotgun from an apartment above one of the Jefferson St businesses to his car in the parking garage. Someone crossed him in the garage stairwell and called the police.
I just saw a screenshot the police have from the garage cameras. The old guy was carrying the gun like he was on a mission, not like he was simply transporting a gun. I completely understand how someone would be concerned and call the police.
