Well, there was a huge organ in there.

Seriously, there was a room for it. Probably 20' x 10' x 20' tall. I didn't know the guy either but the house was basically left open when it was abandoned. Still had all of his personal belongings but people had trashed the place.

Saw someone mention the Jeep trails at Fernwood. Anyone familiar with "Crystal Blue"? It was some trails and a lake about where Academy on LA Ave is now. The trail to get in was fairly difficult so it was a great little isolated hangout.

He was a piano teacher. And I don't think he had siblings or kids, so I guess the place was just left as is. I really don't know what happens to the houses of people who die alone and with no family.

You talking about 7 Acres? I went there to party in Jr. High and sneaky fished it all during college. That pond is part of River Ranch now.

We just went in from the river and walked right up to it.

I sneak fished Crystal Blue a few times in the 70s and 80s. I remember wading across a coulee to get there.

I think the exterior of the house was meant to suggest a grand piano. I had a friend who was one of his students.

Used to visit my grandparents after we moved to Grant parish. If we weren't acting like little shits, my parents would give us some change, and we'd go next door to the Canal station for some Cokes (glass bottles back then) and peanuts. Right there on the corner of Goldman and Evangeline Thruway.

Global Golf. Driving range, Putt putt, putting green, batting cages, and Excite Bike.

Driving ‘the back way’ through Broadmoor.

Drinking at the Caboose on Strip at 15 years old ‘50 cent drafts’.

The high diving board at Red’s.

Keg parties in Gator Cove (like that scene from Dazed & Confused).

I'm pretty sure there was a Pappy Kershentine's restaurant in the mall that served on old tin camp style plates.

Also, the route through Maison Blanche(?) to Kaybee's was worn out from us hauling arse after being dropped off.

What was the name of the sticker store that sold Hello Kitty type stuff?

The puppet show was timeless as well.

Was there a David's Car Stereo in town?

I jumped off the high dive platform at Broadmoor pool when I was about 8 years old. I don't think that would be allowed today.

I use to squirrel hunt those woods pretty regularly in the early 90’s, never fished the lake

any former members of Hub City Rifle & Pistol Club near Tuerlings HS ? Such a convenient place to shoot and sight in guns. Residential growth and Parish wide expansion shut it down.

Someone did earlier, but it's worth mentioning twice

"What would you do for $100...with a beer bottle?!"

To think those girls are probably someone's mom now.

Traveled across the Basin a few times on Wednesday nights to hit the strip and end the night with that insanity.
