I am very thankful my wife doesn't require an expensive purse for her "social network".

The amount of crap some men will put up with is unbelievable.

The LV purse that everyone carries is ugly. Basic bitch equipment. Real rich people don't wear things so garish and branded.

If it’s more than $500, it’s not a Purse - it’s a Bag. That’s all I got.

The purse I use daily is a simple real leather shoulder bag from Coach that dost between 200 and 300 a decade ago. Duluth makes good purses, too.

Avoid the cheaper leather that's composite, they don't last more than a year.

So she reads online threads about reproduction purses? Your idea of sensible and mine are way different. Sensible to me would be seeing a purse you like in the store, getting it and that's the end of the story until it wears out.

Rods n Reels. My grandpa caught an unquantifiable amount of fish on a zebco combo.

I got lucky, my wife doesn’t really care much about purses, her most expensive one was ~$400 that she was gifted probably close to 10 years ago. I just bought her one for Mother’s Day that was $700, she didn’t really ask for it but showed it to me and other friends and probably was about the most I’d heard her talking about a single item ever. She was completely surprised to actually get it. I like fishing stuff, so that can get expensive.

All I know is that when my wife and I went to the big Louis Vuitton store on the Champs Elissee I watched her like a hawk to make sure she didn’t buy anything.

I pity the wives of some of the posters in this thread. The fact that they put up with you and the gigantic sticks up your asses is a miracle.

Why not?
Because some of them cost six figures.
I told her that if she bought a $45,000 purse it better have $44,500 cash in it.

No shite, but some cost much, much less than that. They also sell things others than bags there.

Women's purses exist for only two reasons:

1. TO IMPRESS OTHER WOMEN

2. to store personal items

Maybe you have a "wife / girlfriend / lady friend" who is costing you a ton of money and are trying to get sense of what is "normal" or average? There is none.

When I hear about some ladies beauty and purse costs—absurd-like (to me…but to each their own), it makes me evermore grateful for my wife. She would rather have the $ inside the wallet than into the purchase of the purse itself.

$2-5k for a purse…is norm some circles. Recently discovered friend of friend w/$40k purse (Dr wife).

To share how I feel about such things, in Insert music lyric here:

It doesn’t mean that much to me, to mean that much to you.

My baby want a Birkin, she's been tellin' me all night long
Gasoline and groceries, the list goes on and on
This nine-to-five ain't workin', why the hell do I work so hard?
I can't worry 'bout my problems, I can't take 'em when I'm gone, uh.
