Higher gas prices are probably what would push your average household over the limit financially. Going to be a fun 2024!

The takeaway should have been gas is cheaper than it was 10 years ago thanks to the explosion in US production, but folks have to find something doom and gloom to cry about.

I filled up the other day and it got up to $69 and change so I topped it off to $69.69.

I like 69.

I filled up my truck up this morning using mid grade at an even $70. That’s probably the lowest I’ve paid in weeks on gas.

The record-high for gas prices during the week leading up to Labor Day was set in 2012 at $3.84 a gallon

Adjusted for inflation, that would be $5.11. Inversely, $3.83 today would have been $2.88 in 2012.

I honestly never look at the price when I pull up to a gas pump.

I honestly don’t since my company pays for it.

I am ignorant on this subject. Can somebody explain to me how high temps mean a refinery can't operate at 100%?

I do well financially. Gas isn't breaking my budget. But this shite has gone on far enough. Even the Valero near me was high this morning and they always have cheap(er) gas. I truly do not see how some people are making it right now.

Oil doing exactly what it should: slow but steady ascent off the June lows (+25%) as visible inventories drain. Demand is setting records just as Supply drops on deeper OPEC cuts.

Oil stockpiles are well within the average range. The factor driving oil high is European demand. If anything though oil is starting to weaken and futures looking lower.

Small movements due to the storm and Garyville are already priced in.
